Very nice!
Hey, thank you much. I’m flangipropped!
Oooh. Silver screens are indeed associated with something scary. 🙂
what do silver screen means, mind my ignorance 😀
It’s either figurative or literal. 🙂 But I think in this poem it is the literal meaning which is either TV or movie theater. 🙂
Yes, just what I thought..thank you for a comprehensible explanation 😀
I hope I get it right! haha 😀
Yes you got it right 😀
😀
I see that Rosema has already answered. She is right that I meant the term literally and it does refer to the movie industry. However, your question sent me to Wikipedia to see why. It says the term goes back to the 1920’s and referred to the actual silver (or reflective aluminum) content in the theater screens.
That’s what I thought so, but because every writer has his own interpretation that is why I ask…hahaha 😀
Koolitzable, I answered the question about “silver screen” lower down in this comment section. However, I have been noticing that you read my material quite often and leave me likes which I treasure. So I’m taking this space to say thank you. I believe I am following you; in case not, I’m running right over to do so.
The answer about silver screen is down a couple of comments. However, I have been wanting to acknowledge to you that I appreciate the “likes” you send my way. I don’t know a very good way to say a “like” back to your “like.” So this is it! I went over to your site to see whether or not I have been following you. I haven’t but I am now. Sorry I have missed out on some posts from you. Thanks for reading and commenting.
Oh dear, it is no big deal, you can follow or not, it should be from your own will not out of owe..to blog is freedom, so catch you later and your posts 🙂
Rosema, thanks for reading and commenting. So you like scary, huh? I’m not into horror so I can’t make any recommendations but I think there are many films/books to choose from. I guess you are in writing201; if so, I’ll see you around.
Hi there! Yes, I love creepy novels but not movies! I like to keep imagining the horrors inside me. 😀 I am too afraid to watch them on screen, though!
😀 Yes see you around!
They do ensnare the simple minds 🙂
Jacqueline, when I was a child/teen, the people in my church prohibited going to movies. Movies of the 40’s, 50’s seem so harmless now. But it is nearly impossible to keep children innocent with all the media available now. I guess some think their innocence is not important. I don’t agree. The slippery-slope syndrome.
Wow! You really mastered the haiku with this one! Great job on the alliteration too! This is really powerful xx
Thanks Haley. I feel “pumped” by your approval.
