About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

I’m not a teacher, but this gets an A+!

  2. oneta hayes says:

Oh, I like your grading scale!

  3. Faye says:

Begin again…… what a wealth of experience we could carry back in time. You are bringing it ALL forward and continuing the cycle by reminding ALL of us not to lose the value of what’s gone. Forward go and keep inspiring!

    • oneta hayes says:

Oh, thank you, Faye. I’d love to help pull stories out of the rest of you. I haven’t had great obstacles to overcome in life caused by the vices of others. Perhaps more people will share their overcoming experiences. The only time I ever held a cigarette was when I played hookey in the second grade…oops, that’s another story! But my point is that I never have had hardships like some others. Again a blessing of God keeping his promises to his children!

We would be honored if you would join us as a guest author in our Blogging Alumni #grammar #weekly series!

    • oneta hayes says:

Debbie, that sounds interesting. How does that happen? I have read a few blogs relating to use of homonyms and some punctuation. But I hadn’t understood that it was an ongoing activity.

On the other hand — don’t we begin again every day? We have to — or else we’d be buried under a pile of [insert the necessary word here: fear, anxiety, frustration, negativity, etc.] What we do today may differ, but how we do it? It’s finding the new ways that counts, I think.

    • oneta hayes says:

I don’t begin again to teach in any kind of formal setting. I guess in some respects I see a phase of my blogging experience as a teaching opportunity. But I would like a class again in which I could be benefited by past experience and knowledge. I don’t want to begin as a beginner! I would not like to be cut off from the activities I do today. They are rewarding.

When I have thoughts about going back, I ask myself if I would go back with what I’ve learned since then or would I have to begin again with me.

  9. Hayley says:

I love your list Oneta – and I would love to be one of you’re students of life 🙂 xx

  10. you could start an online class

    • oneta hayes says:

That’s kind of you to make that suggestion. I’m not tech-minded enough to be able to do a class – at least not now. But who knows? Maybe someday. Thanks for the response.
