Okay, so I admit to being a Blogging U addict. First time around I couldn’t find the Commons. Now I can! So much for being a fast learner.
Why did I enroll in my 4th5th (?) Blogging U class?
- I need someone to give me a push.
- I like group projects.
- I like the Commons.
- I like seeing names of bloggers whom I have met before.
- I like meeting new bloggers, whom I have reasonable expectations of meeting again.
- I’m attached to the Blogging U instructors. They are the moorings for my anchor.
Before I began in blogging groups, I had the concept of blogging as writing, but I had no idea of the amount of time I would spend in getting acquainted with others. What were “likes?” What about comments? What are followers? Now I spend more time in making contacts than in writing blogs. And enjoy it! But I didn’t before I knew how much WP cares about offering ways (including the University courses) to help bloggers bond with each other. I felt like a kite with a whirly tail in uncharted cyberspace wondering what was going on around me.
Classmates, I hope you will be curious enough about me to go to my About page, visit my blog, and browse as you wish. Personal information about me will be found in that way. It probably will not take long to find that I am pretty much the “granny” in the group since I am eighty-one years old. But you will also find that I have a wide range of writing styles – from dead serious to deadpan funny. And I might crack a smile on occasion! Meanwhile from the King and I: “Getting to know you, getting to know all about you. Getting to like you, getting to hope you like me. . .”
Way to go Oneta 🙂
I had to exercise some restraint to keep myself from enrolling in my 3rd Blogging 101 (for now 😉 ). But I will surely return later on the year , as it is so true that we can learn so much and the atmosphere over there is so welcoming .
Wishing you a very good “course” and a Healthy and Happy 2016
Turtle Hugs
Turtle, you are such a joy. And I probably found you (or you found me) via a blogging U group. You are proof of my love for contacts! Have a great year. I’ll be seeing you. We still follow.
❤
TH is a lovely introduction. This sentence caught my eye: “I felt like a kite with a whirly tail in uncharted cyberspace wondering what was going on around me.” I wish you many blessings as you blog.
Thank you so much for this chance to know you. A great benefit for leaving comments. I will go to your blog and become a follower. Join me in my journey if you will.
Hello Oneta! Many thanks. I’ve just visited your blog and it’s nice. Have a great day!
😀 😀
I am sad that I am not in class. By the time I got round to registering it was full and the doors were shut 😑 Well I shall enjoy reading other people’s work.
Can’t imagine anything going on that you have missed! We will have to watch for another Ms Congeniality in this group. You just go on being Our First Lady; we will not lose you.
Aww and I love Sandra Bullock a whole lot. I’ll be right here 🙂
No way! I’m in Blogging 101 again too! It really is too much fun to only do once. 🙂
While I’m here, I thought I’d let you know that I tagged you in my “getting to know you” challenge. You are one blogger I would definitely want to get to know more. You’ve been such a supporter of my blog and are such a super sweet person! Here’s the link if you want to check it out https://invisibleworldd.wordpress.com/2016/01/04/challenge-who-are-you/
Good luck with yet another round of Blogging 101!
Hi, Megan. I replied on your blog comments. Glad we are doing this together again. I’ve been watching you. You are a great fun writer. Best to you.
Please can you advise me how your are in 101 Blogging again. I indicated I would value going on as I love the group activity but nothing has ever happened. Advice welcomed. Cheers!
Faye, I have always enrolled at the first announcement. I didn’t realize it was really necessary. I didn’t know there was a “closed” class number, but I see by comments that some have been closed out. I’m glad to be following; that won’t be closed!
Oneta, I too love the Blogging U classes. I was so close to registering for my third 101 but there are just toot-toot many items already in my plate! I promise to follow your trail as you journey through the course! Hugs & Blessings!!
Maybe closing the class at a certain number of enrollees is a new policy. I might not get another chance to hop in. I didn’t do the lesson today because I do not want to change my title and tag line. Dawn Marie, you are in the alumni group, aren’t you?.
