Giving thanks to some wonderful blogging friends for awards passed my way. Sometime before Christmas the Sunshine Blogger Award was passed to me.  It is with apologies that I am just now acknowledging it.  I received that award from my delightful little blogging friend, Pancake Bunnikins.  Pancake has been a friend for about four months.  She has a wall full of awards which she highly deserves and they indicate her social nature.  Many of you know her; if you do I’m sure you also recognize her as a fun writer and encouraging commenter.  She is at

A newer blogger friend is Xara at  The last blog I read from Xara was regarding what she perceives as five faults and ways she is trying to correct them.  As I read her “fault’s” I could see that she sees in herself what plagues a lot of us!  The thing I admire is that she has a realistic plan to correct them.  I’m afraid I have just played at accommodating mine!

I have had several new followers whom I am also following.  I am sure many are worthy of awards, but I am woefully short on time to check their preference regarding awards. Many of my blogging friends have chosen “no awards” status and others have their “cups running over.”  So I am not passing the awards at this time.  I have started a new folder in which I am keeping a list of some bloggers to check out later so I can help new people become better known.  I hope to give recognition to them in appreciation of our blogging relationship.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

You deserve them all and more. I look forward to seeing the beautiful ones you have in heaven!

What a beautiful thought, and very gracious of you to say so, but the awards I look forward to are the ones we will all have. Jesus, beauty, peace, family, color, music, health, feet that move as hind’s feet, historical icons like Esther and Dorcas, John Wesley, and Isaac Watts. WOW. And I dare not even mention the throne of God about which Isaiah said, “I saw the throne of God, high and lifted up and his train filled the temple.” Statistically, I will probably get there before you; maybe I’ll be in your receiving line!

making a folder, that is a great idea! i am an award free blog, but I also like to acknowledge ones that ‘creeped’ in earlier anyway 😀 now to Find where they are hiding! Thanks for sharing I just found more new people to see awesome

SarahC, I suppose there are ways to keep such records in WP (I know we have follow rolls and such) but I like to have a folder in e-mail so I can shoot e-mail directly to that folder with notations if needed. Works well except for the time involved. I’m not too sure it pays off to have too many followers. I’m getting close to 200 and that is almost more than I can be as personally involved with as I want. Don’t tell my stats that, however, I still hope to get more readers.

Thanks, Rashmi, I think of you in the comment to SarahC. I don’t know how you manage to give so much to those of us in your blogging community. Anyway, thanks much.
