jesusHeavy with child upon entering the gates of Bethlehem, Mary knew her womb would bear the child no longer.  Taking the only thing available to them, Joseph tenderly helped her as she gave birth to Jesus, the child who entered this world as all men do, completely bare and helpless, dependent on parents to give it food and clothing.

These thousands of years later I come, bare and helpless, to the saving Jesus, completely dependent on him for my spiritual birth, believing that he bore my sin and shame as he fulfilled his mission on earth.  The mission that began on the first Christmas Day.

Matthew 2:21 the angel’s words to Joseph: “you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). Thank you, Faye. Yes, our bodies will go just as they came – from nothing to nothing. But the Soul – how beautifully we can dress the soul, with kindness, goodness, meekness, gentleness, purity. In those ways we can become like Jesus
