My third 2017 wish for you. JOY
Commuting in a triangle between Wichita, KS; Tulsa, OK; and Oklahoma City was a difficult circumstance in my life during a transition of jobs and residences. Other personal problems were weighing heavily on me.
As I traveled the road alone, God gave me a song. These were the words based on: James 1:2-4. “I’ll count it all joy, my King; I’ll count it all joy. I’ll follow in everything and count it all joy. My steps are all ordered by Thee; my foot shall not slide. By faith I don’t have to see, with you as my Guide. – When I fall into temptation, trials of faith that worketh patience, I will not be in despair, for I know that you are there, working all things for my good.” Along with the words was the music.
It has been about thirty years since the incident related above. I’ve had the song all these years. I, long ago, forgot the problems that worried me that day. But I was left with a song. “I’ll count it all joy, my King; I’ll count it all joy…”
Psalm 37:23 “If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”
