C.S. Lewis — ‘The most valuable thing the Psalms do for me is to express                                                                the same delight in God which made David dance.’

My fourth hope for your 2017 – an appreciation and love for the Bible.   These are some of my favorite Psalms with my comment.  Tomorrow I plan one more 2017 hope for you.  Guess what it is?  I think you will be surprised.

Chap. 1 – Contrast righteous man/evil man. Which do you choose?
Chap 15 – Characteristics of a good man
Chap 16 – The joy/blessings of being a saint of God
Chap 23 – The most memorized chapter of the Bible – brings comfort and joy
Chap 24 – Read this one aloud. Wonderful.
Chap 25 – Especially vs 1-15. Verse 14 is a  “WOW!” verse.
Chap 34 – For those who desire peace and good things.
Chap 37 – Advice to righteous (fret not, trust, commit, refrain, wait, etc)
Contrast righteous and wicked.
Chap 42 – Relationship with my God
Chap 46 – God is our refuge and strength – He is in control
Chap 51 – Repentance
Chap 90 – Moses’ prayer – full of good stuff
Chap 91 – Well known and loved by many – me, too (personalize v14-16)
Chap 92 – Oh WOW again; especially vs 12-15
Chap 104 – Nature, God’s World – Wonderful
Chap 112 – Delights of those who fear God
Chap 121 – The Lord watches over me!
Chap 139 – God knows me!
Chap 146 – I will praise the one in whom I put my trust! My Hope.

About oneta hayes
