AN AMAZING OFFER

intimacy with God

It is common to hear that God has no favorites, that He is not a respecter of persons. That is true; however, He does have intimates! The good news is that anyone, anywhere, anytime can be intimate with Jehovah, the Lord God!

God longs to hold us close. Jesus expressed this in his analogy of the hen and chickens (Matt. 23:37), “how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings….”

Hear the voice of God as he appeals to His children to draw closer!

Draw close enough to hear the beat of His heart,

to feel the heat of his love,

to smell the aroma of his presence

to touch the breast that breathes life anew.

to hear him say, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.

Accept his offer; rest under his wings today.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

Someone once pointed out to me that the image of the mother bird stretching her wings to shelter her chicks takes the shape of Christ on the cross. There we see the great love in which our Lord lays down his life for his friends. J.

My heart always cries when I read that passage in Matthew and think of how Jesus yearns to have an intimate relationship with us and we cut it off.
