Prompt: Tell the story of why this room is empty!

She got the furnishings; he got the house.
She took the baby; he’s left with a mouse.
He got bare walls, broken floors, and grief
She finally struck back and got great relief
She took the money stash – feeling small thrills.
One thing she left him – that was the bills.

ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
Ha! I love this so much. You made me laugh. 🙂
Thanks, IB. From one “man lover” to another, we can still get some kicks out of seeing the losers tromped on occasionally. 😀
lol did make me laugh but sadly my female friends got short shifted, shafted! Well written Oneta
Yes, I do believe my heroine is rare. It is rather a “in your dreams” post – but fun.
great theme, let’s hope it happens more often! Here the ex usually murders her and sometimes the kids, laws against it but happens too often and they do relatively little time … saves settlement issues 😦
Not terribly satisfactory, is it?
I have a son who has a couple divorces under his belt. He came away both times with nothing but a broken heart. So the ax really can swing both ways.
I couldn’t agree more!!!
😀
criminal if you ask me but our male law enforcers and court officers don’t seem too bothered about it 😦
😀
Blessings to you as you respond to prompts. It shows the writer in you. Thanks.
Thanks, Faye. I have a tendency to stick irons in many fires. A bit of my fun, family, faith goals. 😀
Very well written.
Thank you. I was having a little fun. I appreciate your comment.
What a fantastic poem I love the rhyming thanks so much for joining in 🙂
I had fun and I love rhyming. I loved the opportunity to join in. Hope to this week also. But I running way behind…. You probably know how that get to be sometimes. 😀
