GOD LEADS US ALONG

That’s not me in the public library, but I am joining the young beauties and various other sorts there today.  Having trouble with the computer at home today.  Looking on the bright side, however, it did not crash.  Hopefully my material is still all there waiting for me.

I’m grumped this week because of being suckered by a law firm who filed a lien for about $7500 on my property.  I was never notified and just luckily found out about it.  Fortunately, I have a friend who charged me a bare minimum to go to court for me. ($1500 – other lawyers just said it wasn’t worth fighting because it would cost too much.)   The rascals did not appear before court.  Of course, I won and got a judgment for lawyers fees.  The lawyer says I have a winnable case; but the problem is that the statute of limitation is past.  Almost makes me want to call somebody some names!  😀

But then I remember to sit back and leave it to Jesus who will use this to make me a bit more like him if I cooperate.  So I’m speaking peace to my irritation.  The following story puts my problem in perspective.

Early in the 1900’s George A. Young was a young country preacher of limited finances. After a long struggle, George was able to move his family into a small home that he had built himself. He continued preaching in rural communities.

One time while he was out preaching, his house was set afire by some young thugs who did not like his preaching.  He reaffirmed his faith by writing a song that has been encouragement to many through the years.

God Leads Us Along.
(verse 3)  Tho’ sorrows befall us, and Satan oppose,
God leads His dear children along;
Through grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes,
God leads His dear children along.
Some thro’ the waters, some thro’ the flood,
Some thro’ the fire, but all thro’ the blood;
Some thro’ great sorrow, but God gives a song;
In the night season and all the day long.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

      Making my computer keep its mouth shut today seemed to help. It is cooperating right now. But I’m much too far behind to catch up. It is 12:01 and I’m sleepy. 😀 Thanks for the comment.

    There are nuisances galore in the world, and nuisance lawsuits are among the worst. I’m glad that little irritation resolved itself without any loss to you — financially, anyway. Peace of mind is something else.

    Speaking peace to irritation is such a wonderful phrase. If only more people would be willing to do that! But irritation (and anger, and self-righteousness, and such) can feel so good. No wonder we have to struggle against them.

      The issue cost me a few thousand over all. Some of the cost was in being denied a loan that I needed because of the lien and also some result from a ruined credit rating as well as the lawyer’s fee. I’ve filed a complaint with the consumerfinancialprotection. Took me about four hours to do it. Hope it will serve to let others know how to protect themselves better. But I’m through stewing over it, I think. 😀

    Thanks for sharing…love the stories behind the songs…there’s a lesson to be learned when we listen to the stories!
