M’s October prompt for today is “The journey beyond.” I am linking a post recounting a crises in my life when I believe I had a “near death” experience. I think I have new readers who have not read it, and others might find it worth reading again. Obviously it would be very hard to find a picture to go with this post, but this hand and rock mountain image is somewhat similar the one detail of my story. It was good for me to read and remember. https://onetahayes.com/2016/01/31/im-glad-i-did-not-die/

ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
Thanks for sharing this amazing story, Oneta…I’m glad you came back to grace us with your words!!!
Pam
Pam, it is so good to contact again. I hurried right over and read you post. I don’t know how I lost you. I have checked BW a few times but didn’t find you there. It looks like you are writing once a week. I’ll have to put you on immediate e-mail contact so I won’t lose you again. You are so inspiring to me, both in your ability to write and in your topics filled with warmth and realism. Thanks for your comment. I do believe I was given this “added life” for a new chapter. It has been amazing to join in on this blogging world. I’m ever so thankful.
Well, I hopped over and found that I do have you on immediate. I don’t know why I’m not getting you. I watch better.
I absolutely agree. Oneta! The connections we’ve made in BW have been priceless. I was really touched to read your story…it made me stop and it made me think. And I need to remember to do that!
The brain has a wonderful ability to do that – sometimes it doesn’t even need mood music. 😀
I’m guessing every experience for those who have them is different in some important ways. Interesting to compare notes.
Yes, it is. Thanks for reading and commenting, Calen.
Always a beautiful reminder of how blessed we (all) are to have you here with us, where we can benefit from your lived-out experience and wisdom gathered through the ages. Hugs & Blessings to you for sharing (this) once again and for your presence in our blogging community!
I re-read on occasion as time seems to fade so much that God has done for me. I am so glad I have written a lot of those things when they we were new. At this point so much has washed away or I could even be persuaded to doubt whether some detail were true if I had not written them down immediately. Thanks for you sweet words.
