ODE TO THE MAP

Bible

When I wrote Red Velvet Bible a few days ago I told you I would read and report.  I finished it last night.  It was a very short saga of a Bible which had the affect of changing the lives of a little girl, brother, teacher, neighbor, mother is a sweet sugary way.  We Christians have become jaded to the ease of the life changing effect of the Bible.  Although the man of the house could see it’s effects, he would let it have no effect on him.  Quite stereotyped.  Reading it showed me how skeptical I have become when it comes to presenting the salvation gospel to others. 

But still I believe the Bible, God’s Holy Word, holds the key to eternal life.  It presents our need, and offers to lead; we need to read and heed.  So I post a poem from a couple of years ago, Ode to the Map.

The Book holds the legend –

Mapping earth’s journey.

Choose “life” not “death” it says,

And hands to you the key.

Follow the Single Lane, it says

While holding up its signs:

Yield, Detour, Stop, and Go.

Stay alert as you follow –

There’s crossroads along the way,

Inviting the tourist in sublime deceit,

to stumble and to sway.

For some the route is long, some short;

Some roads treacherous, some secure.

Follow the Map to your destination

Eternal Life is sure.

    This is the first paragraph that was on this post. I cannot edit. I don’t know why it did not print; it shows up on the editor. Anyway the post should include the following. I will continue to try to edit.

      I tried kept trying to get it to post the beginning paragraph even to going to an entirely new “add” post. It wouldn’t do it. I’m stumped. I wanted to report on the Red Velvet Bible.

    The early Christians would also have struggled with trying to present the Word. Thank God for Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit ……now for us…..Its Spirit, Word, and God’s Presence in us and through us. Now the WORD is really alive though our lives. Again Thank you for sharing and inspiration.

      The word is alive and sharper than a two edged sword. Thankfully it is not hindered by man. It is effective if it is read. Bye for a while. I’m going to church. 😀

    Your post reminds me of a verse from a well known musical. We indeed have a road-map for living…and I continue to pray that all may choose to use it!!
