ash secret

This picture of Ashlyn was taken three  years ago.  I love her expressions that often look like she in on a big secret.

What an honored place to be! Jesus said, “I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” WOW, imagine that! So what is our “big secret” today? Paul called it a mystery in Colossians 1:25-27, …the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Christ in us! Our flesh, our bodies, the temple of the Holy Spirit.

What a privilege to be one to whom God can reveal his secrets! We are blessed! And we are also responsible for what the Lord has entrusted to us. Luke 12:48 “… From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded…” As 2017 draws to a close, I’m doing some personal evaluation. How appreciative am I of my relationship with Jesus, my Friend? How have I presented “Christ in me”? Do others see the delight in me that I see in Ashlyn? If so, surely sinners will be drawn to Christ in me.

Umm, think it over.  In 2018, show less of me, more of Christ.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

Oh yes. I’ve been thinking lately how the most important thing I can do for my loved ones (for anyone, really) is to draw persistently closer to Christ myself. It’s His wisdom, His love, His timing, and His ultimate purpose that must be accomplished–AMEN to more of Him and less of “me” (the old me) for the coming year. (Please remind me I said that….like a month from now….)

We need to get over ourselves, it’s Christ not us. Good point
