I was awakened this morning by a telemarketer calling before 8:00. I was cross. I told this “Windows technician” that I did not appreciate his waking me up. Then I hung up. Upon appraising my actions, I had to admit I could have done better to make a good day for both him and me. I could have said, “Thank you, I’m not interested but have a nice day.” I regularly hang up on recorded messages without problem, but I often feel bad when I am less than kind to a real life human on the other end. Well this less than charming “me” turns on FB and what pops us at me? The following from three years ago:
If you were in a class, Philosophy 102, it would probably not be long before you would be asked questions such as these: what are we here for, where did we come from, what is our purpose, and where are we going. Life’s great mysteries! My status reports for a few days have maintained that God will share answers to life’s great mysteries. Mostly it is too big for my brain. That’s the way God is! But he will give you enough answers to help you find peace as you snuggle down in his pleasure, knowing you came from God and you are going back to God. Meanwhile you are going to look as much like Him as you can. And you can know what to do to “look like him” because you are going to be as much like Jesus as you can. He said, “If you have known me, you have known the Father.” In a sermon this morning, the preacher mentioned a sign on a pulpit that said “Show them Christ.” From the preacher in the pulpit to the shopper in the “five and ten” cent store to the trooper on the highway to the teacher in the class—and on and on and on –our purpose is the “Show them Christ.”
keep reminding of this periodically….please
Good day, Julie. It would be good to go through the calendar and write that in on enough days to affect real change. Think I will do that. It will be interesting. The Lord might give me a special trial or victory to practice on. 😀
Yes! That’s what we’re here for! 🙂 ❤
Amen.
Great reminder. its not easy when things are not going well but truly it is what we are here for and I’m grateful for the reminder. Thank you.
I think we do better under duress sometimes. When things go well, we travel in neutral and become very mundane. Suffering sometimes keeps us close enough to him that he shines through without one’s knowledge. I’m sure that will be your action through this valley. Stay close to your Healer as you follow what seems to be his plan.
