TAKING ADVANTAGE OF “LIEBSTER AWARD NOMINEE” TO TALK ABOUT MYSELF!
Dear Blogger Friends who help me make a sweet aroma at “sweet aroma.” Sorry I do not know the name of the “lifewithjesus” writer at https://lifewithjesus.blog/2017/12/24/liebster-award-12-24-2017/
However, I have no hesitation in recommending that you visit her blog. She is an encouraging, interactive blogger – the kind we bloggers can call a friend She has nominated me for the Liebster Award. I am a very poor candidate for awards because I only follow the directions I want to follow! But I do like to be nominated; I do like to give recognition to the nominator; I do like to be associated with other blogger nominees; I do like to answer questions. So thanks, “lifewithjesus.” I hope you will meet some new friends.
So here are my answers to her questions:
-
What is your favorite part about blogging? I like writing posts, entering challenges, and making comments. And I like reading other blogs. That covers about everything. I don’t like the mechanics of blogging such as how to make larger font, what about margins, and all that kind of stuff.
-
What is your favorite item that you own & why? That’s hard! I don’t own anything that has much monetary value. Lots of sentimental stuff, collections. memorabilia. I do have my wedding dress hanging in my bedroom as a part of my decor there. That’s special. I have three copies of my doctoral manuscript called “To Know His Name.” I guess that represents my “highest” achievement.
-
What is your best life memory? I guess this is where I should have inserted the part about my doctoral manuscript. I absolutely loved the research and writing involved in putting it together.
-
What is a hobby you enjoy doing (other than blogging)? Don’t have many now that my “wheels” and “bank account” don’t let me get around like I used to. I loved to haunt the second hand stores, old book stores, antique and collectible stores.
-
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be & why? I have no desire to travel except to go see relatives. I have some in Mississippi whom I would love to visit again. Also I have relatives who live in Denver, but I’m afraid to go there since I had the heart issue there. I partially blame the altitude. It might not have anything to do with it, but who thinks rationally about an encounter with death.
-
What is one thing you would like God to do in your life in 2018? I want to be victor over personal issues – food, exercise, sleep. I have quit asking him to do it “for” me; I want discipline to do it “through” him.
-
What is your favorite food? Crackers and milk. Surprised? You thought chocolate, huh? Nope, it is those delicious Club Crackers that do me in!
-
Do you have a job outside of blogging? If so, what is it? The job I retired from was public school teaching.
-
What is your favorite thing to read? I like research such as is necessary for teaching my Sunday School class. I love Christian fiction also but don’t have time for it much anymore.
-
What is one thing you are thankful for? Life
-
What was your first job? I was “aide” for the agriculture teacher in high school, waitress in college, also home care for an invalid. But the first real job was as the secretary to the Supervisor of Services for the Blind, a Oklahoma State government job. (Getting that job was a God blessing. I’ll have to tell you sometime.)
so it’s Dr. Oneta??? 🙂
I got it much too late in life to ever be called that, but it is legit. I have a Doctor of Ministry degree (DMin) from American Christian College and Seminary) accredited at that time but closed now. As many private colleges, lack of funds got them. Actually I think they joined ranks with some other groups. Got it when I was seventy-two, I think. It was a joy to do the manuscript. I started to explain that, but I’m pretty sure it is in my blog somewhere. I do think it helped me get my last job (proved I could still think and finish a project). I loved that job so it has helped me in that way. Otherwise, I forget. I am thinking of using excerpts from it on my blogs soon when I decide how to do so. I have chapters on “God Declares His Name,” “God Defends His Name,” and “God Honors His Name.” I want to remove footnoted items and inserts so that I am basically blogging my own thoughts, conclusions, etc. Do I have your blessing? 😀
heck yes!!!!! I love learning at you knee Oneta—and you know, I did wonder how you were so versed on the many names of Yahweh—–Jehovah…..and as to each and which apply….
I knew you had to have a very deep and broad Biblical base for such….not many use those terms as much as they once did as many in the current culture consider such terms and words to be archaic or even too Jewish ( Hebrew)…..but a living God archaic?????…..now that’s an oxymoron….. 🙂
Can’t wait to for class to begin 🙂
I’ll move it to front burner. Yes, I do mention those Jehovah names in “God Declares His Name.” He has many more names than I write about; I limited the study to the names that show his relationship to man.
I know you’ve written about the names and usage before but I do so enjoy it all!
always lovely to know more about you Oneta, I mean doc 😉
I’m smilin’. I just can’t take this “doc” salutation very seriously. 😀
hey you earned it, so accept it! That’s a heap of work to get that, well done ..
It’s good to know you better Doc. Congratulations on your nomination.
