I want to pay tribute to wonderful people I have known, the wonderful country in which I live, the communities in which I have lived, the churches who have claimed me as their own, the God who sends shivers down my back when I really give him a portion of my time—well, maybe not shivers but tears flow easily in some of those most priceless times.

It sounds good to me. Happy new year! J.
Probably has something to do with the fact that is is scripture! We can’t really say it doesn’t apply to me. 😀
Yes! This! Bring it on, 2018! 🙂
Yep, we winning. It is already day two! 😀
Happy new year my friend
The day was pretty good. Only one problem – no chance to take a nap. Except the one when my head dropped at this computer. 😀
I’ve actually done the same thing when I’m really tired. I fall asleep for a second or two and then wake up wondering where I am.
Maybe we will do it often enough to immediately recognize that it is the computer that is doing it to us. (Not age.) 😀
Sounds pretty good to me— Happy New Year Oneta
A Happy Ne Year’s Day? Oklahoma lost. ‘Nuf said. 😀
Happy New Year to you as well—we won’t talk about “it”
😀
Happy New Year Oneta with praises of thanksgiving for all you share! Hugs n’ blessings too!
You are a saint, dear one, passing around all the good words. So glad to be a receiver. (Oh. no, that word “receiver” made me think of the game again! I’m in Oklahoma; you’ve got to know what game I mean!)
Happy New Year, Oneta. Thank you for another right – to – the – point, great post! I’ll pray for you and the cataract surgery.
Thanks. You apparently didn’t pray for me and the Rose Bowl, or else Oklahoma would have won. 😀
LOL! That’s one of the examples where it seems okay to wonder about God’s will 😄
Smiling ear-to-ear until I remembered what we were talking about. Turned sour again. 😀
I feel your pain, my friend.
😀
Wonderful encouraging resolution for 2018. Thank you. May you hold fast to this in the experiences of your own life journey. off I will go into the day energised and looking for the connections only HE can forge. Love and blessings to you.
As I said to salvageable, it’s scripture. One can’t miss unless it is ignored. I’m joking around, but I am humbled at my lack of will power on my own. I must have Him. Hope you are getting help you need, Faye. I pray for you most days.
Amen!!! Good ones!
I must make a new motto for myself: “Buck up and hitch up to the hitching post.” If you didn’t read my “hitching post” that might not make sense.
I best go look for it!!!
Love it!!!
Happy New Year!! Cataract surgery is a breeze and afterward you’ll be amazed at the difference in clarity.
Thank you. Steph. I’m told I will be happy with it. I just feel like new prescription would help instead, but I guess not. I’m eighty-three; that means a whole bunch of my peers have already had it (including my husband); none have had regrets. I was secretary to the Supervisor of Services for the Blind in the 50s.. Cataracts was the cause of a lot of total blindness at that time. The surgery is a wonderful medical break for us at this time. I’m thankful.
Oh wow I didn’t know that you worked for Services for the Blind. Yes I can see how cataracts would have been a problem back in the day and adding to it was the surgery itself was more invasive than it is today. Even with my little bit of sight once I had the cataracts removed the very first thing I noticed was so much more light coming into the eye and for that I’m eternally grateful. You’ll also notice how vibrant colors are. How soon are you having your procedure if you don’t mind my asking?
Left eye on January 23; right two weeks later. That’s wonderful about the colors; I constantly complain about my glasses dulling colors. I guess it is not the glasses doing it. I’ve been trying t think of some of the doctors we used then. They were pretty much on the cutting edge in cataracts for this area, I think. A long time ago. We also had success with corneal implants and retina surgery.
I’ll have to check back to see how your fare and I’ll say a prayer for you. I’ve has several retina surgeries to repair macular holes and unfortunately my last surgery in 2009 didn’t go so well as a blood vessel broke which left scarring. When I went to Cleveland Clinic they explained that Vitrectomies are very delicate surgeries and sometimes the outcome isn’t as expected. My high myopia added to the complications. I’m so thankful that I had an excellent retina specialist. He was able to stop the bleeding with an injection of Avastin however my right eye has no functional vision.
Wow, I’m glad he could control the damage. I understand retina surgery is still very fragile. Thanks for the prayers. They do make a difference. They tell me my astigmatism could be corrected at the same time, but Medicare doesn’t pay so I will still have to have correction for that. Nice to share some chat time with you, Steph.
I’ve enjoyed our chat as well Oneta. I’ve never understood astigmatism but then again there’s so much at the eye I don’t understand however it is a fascinating organ. I received implants when I had my cataract surgery even though the procedure didn’t give me more vision the light difference was amazing.

This blog is inspiring and let know that god likes us to take risk when it comes to him but he also likes us to be humble with him.
Yes, you are so right. I don’t want to risk anything in my own puny efforts. I’m not very risky even with him. But he is a joy to walk with and be a friend with. I don’t remember having met you, Tanasia. I will be over later.
