OK, Readers, I’m pretty academic today. But I have good news to bring, and that is why I sing…! OOPS, that’s a song many of you may not have heard – That Good Ole Gospel Ship Don’t you love when your brain takes a detour and you find jewels in there!
Back to the good news – that is, you don’t have to remain in Wonderland. Wonder what I should do? No job, now what? Can’t pay rent, now what? Son is sick, now what? He wants a divorce, now what? You have a Guide, a Wonderful Counselor!
Back to academia. God as Jehovah-rohi is revealed in the 23rd Chapter of Psalms. The literal translation is “the Lord, my Shepherd.” Although the Jehovah names are not mentioned in this Psalm, God is clearly seen as Jehovah-jireh (Provider), Jehovah-shammah (Friend), Jehovah-nissi (Victor), and Jehovah-rophe (Healer), Jehovah-shalom (Peace).
I bring to your attention today to Jehovah-rohi as the God who leads and guides. Verse 3 “He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” It is true that he loves you and wants what’s best for you, but he has even more at stake in your “right paths” than that! He wants your success for His Names Sake! His reputation is at risk if you don’t find the right path! In Exodus we see Moses saying to God, “What are your enemies going to say?”
However, I admit we do not always view “success” as God views success. A night in the Garden of Gethsemane may come before we get out of Wonderland. “But I don’t want that,” I say. He says, “Child, you get what you pay for.”

I remember that song! Gotta love The Gaither’s. 🙂
They surely can put some life in a song. Thanks for being here.
Yes they do! 🙂 Glad to be here .
Thanks for the reminder, oneta. Again we must choose how to either trust God or trust our own abilities which often tends to leave us feeling somewhat disappointed.
I’d hate to have nothing higher to trust in than myself. He is able an he is love even when I don’t like what I am walking through. Rejoice evermore anyway. 😀
Love their hearts and music! A good one to sing!
Some of them have taken that trip and landed at their destination. They now know the truth of what they believed here on earth. Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you…”
Amen!!!
Thank you for sharing this great clip. Wonderful reminder in your post as well……. Following will lead through and beyond the grieving and pain but journeying on…….. as Jesus did point the WAY!. Thank you Oneta for the posting. Thank You Lord for the message. Peace! .
We can trust the Shepherd. How are you, Faye? Hope the valley is leveling out for you. Thank you for your kindness.
Amen and amen!!
