As long as farmers vote for those who pay them for not farming;
As long as teachers vote for those who give more dollars to education.
As long as elderly vote for those who give more Medicare;
As long as the poor vote for those who promise a chicken in the pot and a cell phone in every hand;
As long as the bureaucrats vote for those who will save their obsolete jobs;
As long as the able-bodied vote for those who promise early retirement;
As long as the workers won’t take time to vote;
As long as honest men refuse to involve themselves in politics
As long as Christians do not vote because “this world is not my home;”
As long as …….
VOTE FOR WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY AND LEAVE AMERICA BETTER THAN WHEN YOU CAME!
*************
Dear Readers, I welcome you to add a line. I’m quitting because I have probably made enough enemies at this point! I turned coward at “as long as women vote their bodies instead of souls.” There I’ve gone to far.
I’m Canadian, but I agree that we all need to vote for a better world. As long as people hide their heads in the sand about climate change, the end will come sooner than later. That’s my two cents worth. 🙂
I’ll give you a nickle. 😀
Ha ha! Thanks. 🙂
You’re welcome.
While hiding your head in the sand is an option, it leaves other parts of the anatomy vulnerable. 😉
Therefore, head in the cloud is better?
Not really, LOL.
Both avoids responsibility. It does take some discernment, however, to decide when to pull your head out or down to see things that deserve priorities. Cause sure ‘nuf somebody will be sending fiery darts at you. 😀
Confucius was a wise man. 🙂
😀
Yeah, this world may not be our home, but in America we’ve been given a unique opportunity as Christians. We can have a say—however small—in the way our government is run. We shouldn’t toss it out the window when we have the opportunity to make a prayerful difference. Pray, vote, and trust God with the overall outcome. Nations rise and fall, but the will of God will stand forever.
Good comment. Pray, vote, and trust God – and don’t murmur. That last part is hard! I think “speaking out” is not the same as murmuring. I think we do have a duty to work in local campaigns, etc. Some even have a duty to file for offices.
Five years ago I was preparing to run for public office because I thought our country needs people like me in charge. Some friends told me that if I was elected, it would change me, making me more like those currently in office. I guess we’ll never know if they were right. J.
It would be hard to go against the flow but I really think many congressmen and women get a bum rap. I would not like to be in a group with 9% approval rating! Anyway, that’s not what I set out to say. God needs people near the “heads” of state. Why do you think he arranged for Daniel to be near the king, or Nehemiah, or Mordecai, or Cuza, or Paul?
Be bold!
Sadly we are becoming what other countries are. No moral leadership, virtues and violence encouraged by the so called leaders of the free world.
I don’t think it is too late yet. But responsible people with good sense had better get out and vote.
I think you need to keep going Oneta!!! I fully support your growing list!!
I try not to get too boring when I get in a pattern like this. But there were lots of groups I could get into. The ball gets to rolling on my post for tomorrow also. It was fun but I had to quit. 😀 You will like it, I think.
Excellent comment. Yes indeed I hear you. One vote use it but make sure you use it for the right reason, the highest reasons and always for the GOOD of the country.
Thank you.
a right line you post
Thank you.
