I want to pay tribute to wonderful people I have known, the wonderful country in which I live, the communities in which I have lived, the churches who have claimed me as their own, the God who sends shivers down my back when I really give him a portion of my time—well, maybe not shivers but tears flow easily in some of those most priceless times.

One of my students didn’t say the Pledge of Allegiance. His mother told me it was because their allegiance was to God alone. I told her that I could understand that, and if we ever stopped being “one nation under God,” I’d stop saying it, too.
I’m very thankful that at this point it does not have to be one or the other. Thanks for your comment. I have never had any conflict over the pledge because it just seemed obvious to me that we are talking about countries. I pledge allegiance to my country as opposed to other countries. I wouldn’t even pledge my allegiance to my country over my allegiance to my husband and children. Some thinks I just assumed. So many things seemed to be non-issues in the past.
America is ONE GREAT NATION. (Who’s opinion?) In God’s eyes or else it is not true. There are many other nations who even in 2018,where God is FIRST in all their decisions and 1st before anything else. These small nations are relatively unknown but small pacific Principalities where Christ is supreme. One day indeed ONE Kingdom, one God. One Day. .
Bam, Oneta. I consider this one of your best posts ever. That’s not solely because I agree, but he truths you present are also self evident.
