I’m at home, all alone
Enjoying the moment – just my own.
Listening to the lack of sounds
—-Oh, no, listen again
Hear the susurrous sounds?
The pleasant sound in memory
Of children playing
Of husband saying
He will be gone a while.
So I can still smile
At the promise of a remedy.

I do like moments all alone
But only if it’s known
That the family will all be coming home.
+++++++++++++
MW word of the day – susurrous, definition full of whispering sounds

ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
Amen!
😀
Aah… that’s your lovely family.😊We don’t live in a joint family so we all meet each other and grandma and pa on occasions and it’s really wonderful. I can see you there in the middle. Ahah
Yes, that is me. My husband in the white shirt; my son Roger and his wife standing behind. The others are members of their family. I have another son, but he and his family are not in this picture. We get together pretty often. Thanks, Shreya, for your kind words.
Oh wonderful, Install. We all live way far so we generally meet during occasions or when we go there for work coincidentally. hahaa
A-men. Relish the moments of quiet reflection. Memories are like golden gleams of sunlight.
It’s all good. 😀
Alone times are precious and like you rightly said it’s also well appreciated knowing that the family will be coming home. Beautiful family photograph.
Thank you, Dear Jacqueline. Hope you have some blessed family time this holiday season.
What a beautiful family! And poem! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. 🙂
Thank you for the kind comment. I send blessings to you for the holidays also. 😀
