Lexie sat brooding over what seemed counterintuitive to everything she had been trained to believe – things like “if you want to be a leader, first be a servant,” “be humble, take the less important roles, then you will be honored.”
If all that were true, then what had hexed her? Why is she now left out of the group completely! She calculated how she might appease the girls in the school’s welcoming committee. Welcoming committee? What a misnomer! They themselves were nothing more than a clique.
Shaking herself out of her sober funk, she reminded herself of how fortunate she was to have her job. Helping others was a salubrious ointment to her moody self. And she could use a double dose of that today.
Doing light housework for Mrs. Stewart was easy, The money was certainly not a king’s ransom but it was enough. She smiled when she turned the corner. Mrs. Stewart’s grandson was mowing the yard. A good job and a handsome hunk! Yes, today she gets a double dose!

I enjoy these writing prompts. Someday, I’d like to have time to play around with them.Meanwhile, I appreciate that you do, Oneta.
Yes, I understand. But I would like to see some of your creative and whimsical thoughts. If it fits into the good you now do, have at it. You do well at your own calling. It is helpful to me to read some of your blogs from others. I use you as a screener for posts worth reading. Don’t always because of length but it is helpful. To each his own under the umbrella of Jesus our Lord and Master. Thanks for the comment. I value it.
Thanks Oneta, I am so glad that the reposting is helpful! Be blessed, dear Sister
Merry Christmas. 😀
