ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
Hopefully I can continue to make that dish desirable and with just the right amount of spices added.
Way to go, Soldier! 😀
Amen!
😀
Thank God I learnt cooking (well) before marriage though I must admit my spouse has spiced it up a lot (she is a good cook but as long as I don’t say it loud, I may be a tiny bit better😂).
I’m sure she didn’t hear. 😀
😊😊😊
HAHA! I’d have to say, my husband married me in SPITE of my cooking! But I have learned a lot since then, and he’d still rather eat at home than go out … darn…
I wasn’t and am not much of a cook.
Cute!!!! I’m a lucky duck my hubby wants to cook!
My husband does a lot now but he didn’t for sixty years or so.
LOLOL Oneta. You are right. My husband still prefers meat, potatoes, vegetable and all separately. He has never been in favor of cassaroles.
Mine also. He eats lots of stew and left overs. But not much on cassaroles I think becsuse he does like pastas much. That’s often the cassarole main ingredient
We decided to divide and conquer he cook I clean……… still at it 27 plus yrs 😎
You must both be good negotiators. Sounds fair to me. However, men do make more of a mess while cooking – I think. Thanks for the comment.
Yes well still have to clean when I fix food too so…….oh well 😁
You are right; keep your bargain. 😀
No idea what my wife’s first menu was, a sandwich maybe. But on our grand adventure when we had been married a few months, we went to Banff, Alberta. At a little German restaurant, we had cordon bleu, glazed carrots, and potatoes. That meal has been repeated innumerable times. At one time, we bought the checkered tablecloth to match.
Tablecloth even! That does sound romantic. 😀
When the Army stationed me in Germany and my wife found the extra style tablecloth in a local store, she couldn’t resist.
My first full meal on our honeymoon was a kind of tuna bake. it did not turn out quite right. To this day I do not know why. Dave ate it. We both ate it. He has never asked me in nearly 50 years what it was and we have never had it again.
That makes me laugh. 😀 So much like me.
