TAKE A PEEK AT MY WEEK!

Oneta 84

If by chance you’ve taken a peek at my blog for this week

Sorry to say you have found very little, ’cause so much stuff caught me in the middle.

Hate to write all the stuff, of so many distractions, I’ve had enough!

Some are sad and some are good, but I got by the best I could.

Three days of baby sitting four precious girls who have me smitten.

Mamma Guppy had six small fry, I lost one – nearly made me cry.

Now when the girls come I must tell, instead of six only five still dwell.

Company arrived from Mississippi, thankfully Sammy made coffee.

Sister came from Chickasha, didn’t stay long then went on her way.

Three days I suffered an infected eye, made that way by a dreadful sty.

With antibiotic and hot wet rags, finally got rid of the ugly eye bags.

Had a war with an army of ants who cared not a whit about my raging rants.

I felt a bit of guilt ’bout my bullying ways, but I put an end to their living days.

Too much rain the sewer did fill,  only one toilet working well.

Two toilet stools refused to flush.  Company was coming – I did blush.

Ahh, the sun did shine and the ground dried out –

Swipe, swoop, swush,

Two cans of  Frebreze and Lysol with a brush –

Now to the supreme test.  Yes indeed, they do flush!

Is that the doorbell?

“Oh, do come in,” I say with a grin.

That kind of deceit is not really a sin!

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

Wow what a week. There are days when I long for that kind of activity, but it’s usually pretty quiet at my house. Good for you to handle all of it with style and class and find the time to write about it. You are my hero, Oneta.
