Long awaited day.
The baby’s heart starts beating,
Not a sweeter sound!

ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
Thank you. Memories flood my heart with gratitude. It is an ongoing TRUTH for all generations. LIFE sanctified, PRECIOUS.
Thank you,Faye. My boys came before all the fancy new tech so I don’t remember hearing their heart beats – since I certainly could not get my ear to my stomach! Maybe a doctor let me use the stethoscope I don’t remember.
What special timing for this post! My nephew just heard his baby’s heartbeat for the first time today!! ❤ 🙂 There really is no sweeter sound!
How exciting! I was serious with the haiku today. I meant every word. Thanks for telling about your nephew and his coming event. May their family be blessed.
No sweeter sound indeed. A lovely poem.
Pat
Thank you. 😀
This is beautiful Oneta. I remember when I got to hear our sons’ heartbeats for the first time. I did not get the snazzy ultrasounds they do now but that heartbeat was so precious.
Did some kind doctor let you use the stethoscope? I don’t remember. I’m judging by experience of my granddaughters mostly. One has gone through the pain of hearing one and then having it stop. Much grieving.
I had some gizmo they slid around on my belly.
I have had a friend with the same experience at 4 months. So very much grieving.
Life consists of ups and downs for sure. I’ve had that gizmo for some kind of tests. Past eighty so am fairly sure they were not checking for pregnancy problems. 😀
