Valley House – this place looked tame compared to the places Alan sometimes found her. Nothing however could take away his love. He relished the love they had shared. He didn’t blame her for trying to escape the horrors of having the DUI accident which killed two children on the tandem bike. She had served her time and seemed to have defeated the alcoholic binges. When tortured by memories, she sought company. Through the window he could see her with beverage in hand. He went inside. “Hi, Darling, you enjoying your Sprite,” he said with a hug.

ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
Wow! Feeling and passion all expressed in such a simple blog. Thank you.
Thanks, Faye, for your kind comment. It’s probably not love if it does get one through the tough spots. Long marriages will prove that.
🙂
Oneta, I hope everything is OK on your side. Our thoughts and prayers are with people affected by the tornado.
Got busy last few days after coming back from Chicago trying to wrap up the kitchen remodeling project. At least got the kitchen back to cook though to complete remaining work will take till end of June, I think. Not much time to write or read as my wife is travelling to India in few days for a short trip and need to complete many activities before she leaves.
Sounds like order is being restored and many pleasant events are lining up nicely for you. Yes, we are okay. There is a lot of damage in most of the state caused by floods. A bad touch down of a tornado in El Reno about 25 miles from us. It seems especially sad that it hit a hotel. I remarked to my husband that it was especially sad to have occurred to people passing through. We Okies at least have a sense of what to do if… or we are hardened to just staying and taking our chances. Or we just handle by faith and common sense. But travelers, I’m particularly sorry for. They must have been so scared. I had my moments night before last when our place was in the zone. We just waited. Sammy asked if I wanted to go to the cellar, but I’m not very good on steps. We opened the door to listen, if we heard it coming we planned to duck into my closet. You can bet I was saying “Jesus, please lift these things back into the air.” Well none did much damage that night. Thanks for caring. 😀
Thank God (😊) for the good news.
😀
