I’m glad I didn’t buy this for the light it provides; it’s function is strictly beauty, something pleasant to my eyes. Although this light has great looks, it is no use for reading books. The shadow patterns on the walls can be romantic if the occasion calls. If you need a light to read by, this would only make you cry. But if you love antique and brassy, this light will make you feel real classy.

Yes, folks, it is my light in the bedroom, but worth little except that I like it! Thankfully I have another in my “reading” corner. 😀

ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
Beautiful!
Thanks, Tourmaline. I loved having a reason to write it. You gave me the reason. 😀
I like it a lot!
😀 That’s high praise for me. I like it, of course.
I love it— I just had a couple of my grandmothers antique lights repaired and hung— not much light as you say but the lights themselves are quite beautiful
It seems the contemporary and modern designs are very pretty when put together like a room full “effect.” But I don’t see individual items as being beautiful within themselves. For instance a plant in a pot can fit beautifully in a certain setting when it is not all that “grabbing” as an item alone. Do you know what I’m saying? Hope so. 😀 Enjoy your lamps for a long time. Add functionality as needed.
I totally agree— this current generation does not see the beauty in those things that were…
😀
I love it! I suppose someone has already asked for it when you die (that happens to me).
No, but I hope someone does want it. Most of my family are ranch or contemporary style. Thanks for the comment, Judy.
I love it. I am always pleased to see that which is truly beautiful even if its functionality is about nil.
Perhaps there is a thought in that for all folk who love beauty and Grace and have to weather the comments (but, its not good or useful!).
😀
I love that lantern, it’s so beautiful! But they my views may be biased! I am a lantern lover anyway!
I have another in the garage. Not a duplicate but very pretty; removed from the room when the room went contemporary. Hop right over an I’ll give it to you. 😀
Awww thank you! I have a special love for lanterns. Just something really beautiful about them!
😀
