CHECK THIS #1

check mark

A while back I grabbed a bubble gum.  Removed the paper, popped it (the gum) into my mouth, poked a nice thimble-type bubble with my tongue and tried to blow it up. I had forgotten how! Do you hold the gum between the lip and gums or behind the gums with the tongue holding it in place?  I can’t remember!  Is it physical or is it mental? Do you suppose I will be able to continue my daily routine?  Maybe it is true; maybe people do get too old! My darlings better contact their old gramma before its too late!

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

  1. I once could blow a bubble in a bubble—and just watch out cherry stems 🙂

  2. There was bubble gum in the candy dish at church today. I took one, unwrapped it, put it in my mouth, and chewed it on the drive home. I can’t remember the last time I had bubble gum in my mouth. Years, I’d say.

But here’s the scary part: I didn’t try to blow a bubble. The thought never even occurred to me. You may have forgotten how to blow a bubble, but my forgetter is worse than yours. I forgot that’s what bubble gum is for. Yikes!

I think the very last time I ever made a bubble, it was too big and popped all over my face –
to quoth the Raven… Nevermore! 🙂
I’d rather unwrap a dark chocolate Hershey Kiss!

I bet so. The dare devils could do that. I have had to do wipe ups on little faces that blew too long. You have to use the gum to remove the gum. At least it was easier that way. 😀
