DRESS THE WOUND

surgeon

Look with me at the CONDITION of prophets and priests before judgment came to Judah. God speaking through Jeremiah (6:14) “They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. ‘Peace, peace’ they say, and there is no peace.”

The “sinner seeking” church today that refuses to address the sin issue, refuses to call sinners “sinners,” hops over the demand for repentance is not acknowledging the “wound” of the people. Surgeons have to remove the problem before the wound can heal. The problem of sin is not removed by ignoring it. “Peace, peace” they say, “that conviction you feel is the devil trying to bring guilt on you. God loves you. He will not bring guilt. Peace, peace.”

How we pride ourselves on not scaring sinners to Christ, and all the while ignore the issue of hell. Peace, peace vs hell! Prophets and priests, there is little time left. Don’t have blood on your hands because of not telling the uncomfortable and troublesome TRUTH.

John the Baptist said repent (Matt 3:2); Jesus said repent (Mark 2:15; 13:3 & 5), Disciples said repent (Mark 6:12); Peter said repent (Acts 2:38); Paul said repent (Acts 17:30; 26:20); John said repent (Rev. 3:19). Peter points out that one will perish if he does not repent (2 Peter 3:9) That’s quite a line up to go against.  Turning over a new leaf will not do it!  It take the blood of Jesus to pay for sin.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

Thank you. I like your blog; happy to be a part of it. 😀

      • I value your view, which was linked to a serious scripture, and was asking for us to take an inward look which would draw us closer to God. To me that sort of thing is a lifesaver rather than a javelin. And the question really must be, not how it applies to others but how does it apply to me, or apply to you and our actions. What can we do to please God and be truthful, upright and loving. And what does that look like in the face of a scripture like this.
        Thanks again.

Thank you. Thank you for blogging this. While we must face up honestly to our own fallen condition and accept we have been ‘Born again’ but surely not yet perfected,, we must not stop being strong in the issues you have raised in this blog. It is vital.! Politics, secularism. human ‘rights’ etc etc. Everything must be aligned with the holiness of a Divine God. For those who do not believe there is a God my advise is Stop reasoning, stop writing, simply one day put aside EVERYTHING and as a naked human spirit/soul cry out. I don’t believe you even exist.! It’s honest and it true. I know of one man who did this. What happened changed his life and the lives of everyone in his neighbourhood. Thank you again Oneta and my comment is Just a thought.!
