WHAT MY MIND THINKS, CAN BE DONE?

Oneta 84

Right there on TV, SHE SAYS IT WITH A STRAIGHT FACE,

“Greatest danger on earth is warming climate.”

What? Millions of babies killed a year doesn’t count?  Terrorists don’t count? Tumbling morals don’t count? Drug addiction doesn’t count? Heart failure? Cancer? Flue – Eboli, Coronavirus? Or what ever the current type? Murder?  MS13?  Mexican Drug Cartels?

But I’ll side track from the serious stuff a bit and go to another danger to the world.

Environmental issues!

Watch the EPA run to find another algae, owl, snail, or snipe to write about – get to composing a grant for another hundred thousand so they can help save the planet!  Meantime don’t clear out any forests and mess up nature’s habitat.

And can’t we do something about plastic straws?  Someone else beat me to the draw on the solution.  Straws made out of pizza.  Okay, they say pasta.  But pizza sounds better to me.  I’m working on a better plan.  We could use pizza for main course drinks, hard waxy chocolate would last through dessert time.  Then one could end the evening by eating the environmental problem. And rubber straws should work fine for saloons and wineries.  When the head falls into one’s drink, a rubber straw would be non-injurious.

Now forgive me, dear mothers, while I muse over a matter which really influences the environment. Can you imagine how big a land fill is needed for all the Pampers, Huggies, Parent’s Choice, Luvs, etc., that are used in a day, 30 times that for a month, 350 times that for a year for every little 0 to 2 year old that graces our lives! About 10 million a day in USA! And American mothers leave a very low carbon footprint in relation to a Japanese mother who uses about two and a half times more than her American counterpart. Whoa! It will take another Greta Thunberg to get that done.  The new and unused Greta could have done it.  We need new and unused Greta2!

I have heard that if the mind can think it, it can be done…   So I’m thinking.   How about a cloth diaper that has disposable “pockets” in them; how about poking holes in one side of a Walmart bag, then stuffing it with newspaper; how about recycling diapers through pig farms?  Or, mothers used to use cloth diapers then wash them for reuse.  Here comes a Mother’s March!

I really do need a side job—something that pays big would be nice. I can probably find instructions online…..maybe I should learn Japanese….does the Japanese government fund EPA grants…. I wonder, will my young mothers still love me….

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

I tip my hat to you. This is a marvelous post full of great ideas. Both our boys had cloth diapers. I don’t think there was much trauma with that, and it provided incentive to have the potty trained.

For sure, many babies were potty trained by fifteen months or so. Sometimes my sarcasm begins to show about what some people consider such depressing problems of the day. I sorry over the thing in the first paragraph, but joy in knowing God has control. Deliverance will come before the earth burns, the oceans dry up, and humans become extinct. 😀

Wow! I was just told sorry my comment could not be posted. I’ll try again. Thank you for your excellent post. I believe that the answer to climate change (which is obvious) some nations are burning, others are freezing, flooding or being exterminated by strange diseases cannot be solved by activists who are living in deception. All nations must see clearly that evil in our countries is rife. Families are in tatters and God has been relegated to a box hidden somewhere in the past. It is time for believers to repent on their knees and ask God to forgive our nations and our churches. The world is self focussed and overlook that the ONE who came to save us all came to save our souls. Yes Oneta, God does have control Deliverance will come before the earth burns and the oceans dry and humans become extinct. How do we KNOW? What did Jesus say?. Read the book of REVELATIONS. Lets walk on with Joy, Love Him. The Day of REDEMPTION draws ever nearer.

Very true, Faye. Where is not, evil abounds. If evil abounds because God is not wanted, he goes away. I don’t mean that literally but he is pushed away by our sins. If he is not want, He (Holy Spirit on earth) lets man have his way. Man’s way is death.

  3. My daughter made cloth diapers for a while, in pretty colors and patterns, with three layers – waterproof, absorbent, and sheer flow-through material for against the skin. They had little Velcro tabs in solid colors that complemented the patterns. They were adorable. She sold some, but used most of them and didn’t have time to fulfill all the orders she got. (In the summer that was all her babies wore – or had to wear. They were a hit at the beach. 😉 )
Maybe someone who sews and DOESN’T have babies could take over the business. There’s definitely a demand for baby fashion that’s both chic and environmentally responsible. 🙂

Sounds wonderful! Did she try to sell the idea to Pampers or some other big name, or even a not so well known who might have needed the boost. Hope she can benefit in some way. It really is needed. I used diaper linings with my second son. They were an improvement over the diapers I used for first son – just cloth which I rinsed out in the toilet stool before the wash. Just imagine my mom wouldn’t even have had a flushing toilet stool! 😀

  4. pranabaxom says:

What about not having babies any more. Two problems solved at one time, no more abortion’s and no more diapers 😀.
By the way, is the year 350 days in your corner of the world?

  5. oneta hayes says:

Some choose that. The price is too high. Last question?

  6. not having babies will be really good for mother earth, but that is one request no one will hear! natural instinct will overpower!
