LET US PRAY

Oneta 84

This morning  I decided that instead of my regular Bible reading, I would check my e-mail to see if a blogger had something particularly inspirational to say to me.  I opened my e-mail on the kindle and there first was Julie aka Cookie’s post.  Good post.  But I particularly want to draw you attention to the prayer at the end.  Let us pray:

Almighty God, who hast given us this good land for our
heritage: We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove
ourselves a people mindful of thy favor and glad to do thy will.
Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and
pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion;
from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend
our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes
brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue
with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust
the authority of government, that there may be justice and
peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we
may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth.
In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness,
and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail;
all which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

The Book of Common Prayer

For those who have questions about how Jesus speaks to us, I offer this as an example of his divine will and how the Holy Spirit works in a Christian.  Why did I decide to read a blogger instead of a Bible passage?  I have never done such a thing before.  Why was Julie’s blog the top e-mail (except for ads, etc)?  Why did I decide to pass this on?  Most of you know it is because the Lord calls us to intercede for our nation, our president, our lawmakers.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

    I say that every day should be a national day of prayer. You have my vote if you’re still running.

      I had to go chasing you down again today. Why aren’t you connected to me correctly! I love your up to date blog. Everything I get comes from the old (not current). Anyway back to the serious issue of my presidency proposition. No way I can beat Trump so being a GOP nominee won’t work. Truthfully though I can’t out-wit nor out-work him. For sure I can out-wit and out-work the Presidential nominees but the Dems are looking to Socialism – even if it comes in the guise of “tax the rich” so I can’t win their nomination. Sorry to let you down.
