I have a new accessory;
They say it’s a necessity.
I wish it were a bracelet or a purse.
I guess it could be something worse.
But I don’t like it, not one little bit.
I prefer music and puppies or even English lit.
Lots of variety in life I love.
Kitties and kites, and ducks and doves.
I love Jesus and people, and country and kings
Necklaces, shoes, baby goats, and rings.
BUT a plastic tube with two “pokkies”up my nose?
Supposed to make it easier to send blood to my toes!
My kids act like I have no voice,
Saying, “You’re gonna do it. You have no choice.
And much as I nag, kick, and seethe,
I really do like to breathe.
So I asked the doctor, “Do I really have to?”
She said, “No, but you’ll live longer if you do.”
So as much as I hear the joys of Heaven beckon
I’ll choose to stay here a bit longer, I reckon.
I’m sure it’s a bother, but I could hardly see it in the photo..I was too busy staring at your pretty scarf and pin..(My dog’s name is Daisy..so I am drawn to anything that looks like a daisy!)
How kind you are! Detract – that’s the answer. Thanks, dear. Best to you and Daisy.
I didn’t notice it right. I was looking at your scarf and then I thought maybe you got new glasses. ❤️
Thanks, Alexis Rose. You are sweet. I guess it is not very plain in the picture. That pleases me. I will be taking it off for pictures for quite some time I imagine.
You write about it so beautifully. So glad you decided you ‘needed’your new accessory…there’s yet a lot of your writing left to read. P.S. love the scarf.
Thank you. Laugh or cry. I prefer laughing. 😀
That is definitely better than crying.
😀
You are beautiful, Oneta. And I love to read your poems and prose. ❤❤
Thanks for spurring me on. When I think I can’t do it, I’ll say to myself, “Something special for Linda Lee.” It might work. 😀
Yes! That’s the spirit!
(((HUGS))) to you!
I’m grabbing them. Caught some. Thanks. 😀
🙂❤
LOL! Charming post, Oneta! My poor hubby, he got concrete dust pneumonia, nearly left me, and so he spent the last few years on oxygen and a breathing machine at night. He’s off daytime oxygen now, healing nicely, so good news! But I empathize with you, it can be such a nuisance. On the other hand, it does clear your head and keep the blood going to your toes! 🙂
Glad to hear of a good report; that one can do well enough to graduate off. And I guess my toes are better off for it! 😀
Pokies— but who even notices with such a fetching scarf and brooch 🤗🤔
My nose knows. No fooling it with fetching scarf and broach. 😀
well, we may be on to something…designer oxygen masks—we’ll come up with some sketches and pass them by the doctors!!!
We’re on! 😀
Honest to goodness, I didn’t even notice when I first looked at your photo. It was the scarf and the pin that attracted my attention. They’re so pretty! Once I understood what you were referring to, I had to agree — living is a good thing, and whatever helps us keep doing it is good. I wonder if they make those little tubes in different colors, to coordinate with your wardrobe?
You, Trusted Brilliant Friend, are just the person to come up with a solution. Now who will buy that idea – right now Democrats will buy anything. Coordinated breathing tubes. Not only sell to individuals but to hospitals also, They should adore this amenity to show their love of diversity for various personalities. What a thought! Watch for a great large cabin boat for us when we get out initial payment. No yachts yet. We might want to customize one when the money rolls in.
I didn’t notice at first either! I’m sure it makes you feel much better though. 😊
I think some people never caught on to my “news.” The post is quite silly if that point is missed. I’m wondering because of a few comments from Face Book friends. I guess the picture is not very plain, especially for my peers who have visual problems. I’ll update in a few days. Thanks for the comment.
Based on your post I knew what you were referring to so I looked for it. I think it’s wonderful that it’s not very obvious so you don’t have to feel self-conscious about it. ❤️
♥♥♥
I thank God for modern helps. Your smile radiates and it is not unusually obvious. Now that 1/2 the world is wearing face mask because of the Corona Virus You actually look very elegant. Love, understanding and joy for all that you will yet be. xxF.
Thanks for the cheerful words and for the blessing. Yes,I’m thankful it is not a mask.
Yes, stay a bit longer! God bless you.
😀 I like that idea. I intend to be a record breaker on the number of years one wears this thing.
