Dear Friends, let me introduce my son, Carl,
to you.The poem below was written by him.

I’m thankful to You, Jesus…
That you encourage me as You do.
That You encourage me in what I have done,
though I’ve failed.
And that You encourage me in
the things I must do,
though I faint.
With encouragement, You give strength.
By encouragement, You give hope.
In encouragement, You reveal need.
No one lifts me up like You, Lord.
No other offers a seat in heavenly places.
You alone are my portion and delight,
all other blessings are because of You.
I will never doubt or be afraid.
I love the life of which in You I’m made.
No one has ever encouraged me as You always do.

ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
You’ve raised a good boy Oneta— we’ll credit Sammy as well 🤣
I just take for granted that I did it, but thanks for pointing out, it takes two. 😀 Just imagine how you will feel when your son goes on social security and retires! Seems impossible.
He got a late start so I may not be around for that day 😂
Oh, no. Think a lot on this: “with a long life I will satisfy you” I think Ps 91 Not only a long life but a satisfied long life. That’s hope.
Now that is good!
He’s struggle growing up due to his learning disability and many believed he’d never get in college lay alone finish.
He did— it took a while but he persevered- lots of tears and frustrations from all of us- but we are so proud of him and if the job he’s now doing for Ga Pacific— I just pray it doesn’t kill him with stress!
We pray. Thanks, Julie.
Very true line: “No one lifts me up like You, Lord.”
Wow! You can be proud of your son. What a great Mom you’ve been. God bless.
Thanks much, Stephanie. I have two sons both of which respect and honor the Lord, the ultimate reward to a Christian mom.
