WHAT’S A CLIPPIE?

Face Book pulled up a memory from seven years ago.  I am sharing.  Sorry to say, there are no clippies on the floor now.  Too much gaining, not enough losing.

**************

Report time, I have great ambitious early mornings! At six o’clock a.m., I was cleaning the floor of my closet, that’s the area that catches the throw away stuff, the give aways, lots of walmart bags, a few Dilliard’s bags, the four inch strips I have cut off too-long dresses, shoes not decent to be seen but much too comfortable to get rid of, along with receipts and a couple years of clippies.

What’s a clippie? That’s the tags I clip from clothes that show whether they are washable, where they are made, size—that kind of information you need to keep. I have come to a shrewd, maybe even original, conclusion. Ready? A woman is much more likely to keep clippies if she is losing weight than if she is gaining! Oh, how nice to go from 24-22-20-18-16-14! I put them in a trash sack but I think I’ll go get them and organize them for a nice photo album!

Now how do I know they are evidence of coming down in size since I would have the same sizes on the way up? Because I quickly rid myself of all printed evidence on the way up! Sort of one of the “like a man looks at himself in a mirror…and goes away and forgets what he looks like,” situations, and I don’t need a clippie to remind me!

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

I’ve always done this too, especially as I got older…and my weight went up. I’ve recently began a low carb diet (last summer)..it’s been slow progress, but the old weight has decided to start disappearing…one gram at a time. Currently, my total loss is roughly 28 pounds. My goal (this time next year) is to lose about the same amount. Than you for the giggles..now I know what to call these tags. Good bless -:)

Hey, congratulations. It is not an easy task to lose weight! My success at the time I saved the clippies was due to sickness. Discipline regarding one’s food is much better on mind and body.

I never thought to keep the clippies 🙂 This was great fun Oneta. And we did find my jeans. My son had folded them while doing laundry, thinking they were his wife’s, and put them in her suitcase. They are now in their proper place in my closet 🙂
