COLOR YOUR WORLD

Kleenex had been around twenty years or more

But unknown to me until nineteen-forty-four.

A girl passed me a tissue for my tears in church,

She noticed  that I, for a hanky did search.

I’ve found that Kleenex is certainly handy:

For wrapping a piece of left over candy,

Soaking the blood on a boy’s stubbed toe,

Very good when your nose you must blow.

And for it, you’ll be a thankful soul –

When there’s no more paper on the toilet paper roll.

(I’m warning you that I’m about to get political in a few days, so I’m just doing fun today. Hoping to remind you I’m nice to come see again.  😀  Please go ahead to my Kleenex subject below.)

Chances are you will not remember the first time you used Kleenex.  It is true that a girl behind me passed me a Kleenex in church.  I remember it well because I used it then turned around to give it back to her…..she politely told me it was to be thrown away.  Embarrassment makes lasting memories.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

    Ah, I see.
Completely useless for the (political)mess we are in😀

Great memory stirrer. Thank you. The problem with our whole world goes far beyond lack of paper ie toilet or politics. It’s a heart issue. The deepest human needs can not be met by any of these tangible things, What is written on the illustrated boxes is indeed how we should be colouring our world. Blessings!

I bought the last of these boxes from Dollar Tree. I’d love to find more of them. They don’t take as much space on a shelf. That’s good, but they cost more – less tissue in the box. America does indeed have a heart problem.
