No, I don’t think President Trump is the Messiah but I do think he is called and chosen by God to be President of the United States. And I think that is because it is a time on God’s calendar to move some things in Israel. President Trump has proven that he was the one who could get it done.
This is my perspective and an explanation of how many Christians view President Trump’s place in the calendar of time shown by God’s chosen people: in this case I’m talking about Israel. (We are all his chosen if we except his salvation to us.)
My sister called me the other day and said, “Oneta, I’ve been reading Isaiah 45 and reading about Cyrus. There are so many things that are similar to President Trump.” That reminded me of an essay I wrote way back in 2003. Of course then I knew nothing of what would develop in these past two decades, but there are some parts of it that I find fascinating.
In the time of Cyrus (about 550 BC) the Jewish people were in captivity far from the land of their father Abraham, the land God had promised to them. Jerusalem and the temple were destroyed. That destruction happened under a Babylonian king.
A hundred and fifty years before Cyrus was King of Persia, Isaiah had prophesied about a coming deliverer named Cyrus.
Isaiah 44:28 who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd
and will accomplish all that I please;
he will say of Jerusalem, “Let it be rebuilt,”
and of the temple, “Let its foundations be laid.”’
Isaiah 45:1-3 “This is what the Lord says to his anointed,
to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of
to subdue nations before him……so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
Isaiah 45:13 I will raise up Cyrus[a] in my righteousness:
I will make all his ways straight. He will rebuild my city
and set my exiles free, but not for a price or reward,
says the Lord Almighty.”
I’ll not recount the story of Cyrus here but suffice it to say, he was the Persian King who along with King Darius sent the Jews back to their land to rebuild Jerusalem.
I think God also appointed President Trump for this time because there are prophesies to be fulfilled. He has been very active by recognizing Jerusalem as capital, land assignments, a “peace plan” between Israel and surrounding nations.
What now will unfold? I don’t know but if God needs President Trump for another four years, come hell or high waters (make that New York Times or Democratic Party) he will be elected.
But what if it doesn’t happen? Then God’s time table will move on, perhaps without an America as we have known her.
I believe what happened in D.C. over the weekend – “The Return” – was the most important thing that has happened in this country in decades. It was a call to national confession, repentance, and prayer based on II Chronicles 7:14. About a quarter of a million people showed up, although the mainstream media still didn’t consider it newsworthy. But that doesn’t matter. The important thing is, if this country doesn’t turn back to God and soon, it doesn’t matter who’s in the White House, we will be destroyed. If you missed the event, you can watch it at thereturnsimulcast.com/the-return . If you can’t watch the whole thing, do listen to Jonathan Cahn’s prophetic message to America, starting at about 2:53. (It gave me chills and made me cry.)
Thanks for the info. I planned to watch but family issues arose. I did pray with my g-granddaughter at eleven so we were mindful of the day. With or without America, God’s will will come to pass. I just want to see my country in his will also. Thanks much. I will listen.
Great. BTW, Jonathan Cahn spoke on Saturday morning. (The second of the three videos, and definitely the longest one.)
Interesting stuff, Oneta. Cyrus, hmm, I’ll have to check that out.
Needless to say, I am also not confused about who the Messiah really is. I just happen to believe Trump was made to lead our country for such a time as this. Kind of funny, I don’t think I’m the one needing a president look like a pastor, but rather, more like a bouncer in a bar. Keep in mind people are rioting not far from me, with the full approval of their political leadership. So like, someone with the demeanor of a bouncer is called for right now. If you’re looking for the softer side of Trump, he actually has been nominated for 3 Nobel Peace prizes and he has done some amazing work in shutting down both drugs and sex trafficking. So in him I am well pleased. 🙂
Thanks for your perspective. I wish more people could see that side of him. Frankly, I’m having a hard time, but if he would just mention these things in the campaign …
He is not a politician. Most people say they hate politician but when we get a leader who is not a spit polished politician, he loses lots of folks. If enough people want a politician, there is ole Joe with his 47 years of experience and those pulling his strings. Thanks for the comment.
Whatever happens on Election Day, we must accept as God’s will. The plan has already been established by him and he certainly knows what he’s doing.
It will at least be what God choose to give us/or let us have. Sometimes we get less than the best if we insist on it. I’m anxious for the result. But the result will not be peace no matter which party wins. The hate will continue.
Unfortunately I agree, but I also know that out of chaos, God can create order.
Amen, yes, and He will.
I’m with IB —-we need a bruiser to take care of business and President Trump seems to be tapped for the job!
Firstly he is, but he has my vote!
He is doing a lot of things that needed to be done. I had no idea what a cesspool we had in D.C. among people had had help in high esteem, Jim Comey for one.
Exactly
Jonathan Cahn has also associated Donald Trump with Cyrus. They were both protectors. He also mentioned Jehu from 2 Kings 9-10. Jehu was a commander who became king of Israel and destroyed Ahab’s house along with many servants of Baal.
I agree. Trump is not the Messiah, but I believe he was called and chosen by God to provide protection.
I also agree with your perspective on the election. It is in God’s hands. We just need to obey by voting and witnessing and then stand back and let God work.
Wise words. If I can get it done, another somewhat lighter post will come comparing/contrasting Cyrus/Trump. I’m anxious to get to work on it, but still family matters must be cared for. Thank you Frank. I hope you have lots of “walk away” Democrats who will stand for America.
I also hope there will be many Democrats who vote for Trump.
Yes.
and that would be feisty, not firstly hahaha
That adds a sparkly picture to your words. All he has done for minorities, economy, women, justice, unborn, foreign affairs, states rights, religious freedom, I’m with him. That makes him a feisty firsty!
🤗
From a distance we here in Oz see what has been unfolding all over you has been wrapped in politics and human rights but it is on the bottom line ALL about ant-Christian and everything your Nation was built upon .DECEPTION in any guise is not of GOD REPENTANCE is necessary for all nations across this earth. The Truth is not just for 9,000 years of biblical history but from the dawn of all time. GOD. Without Trump GOD will be forced to use another way to fulfill HIS Divine Plan for Israel and ALL NATIONS. What will happen to your nation on the Way?? Find out what the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea has said on his DAY of Thanksgiving. You will then get a glimpse of our passion here in the South Pacific. It is written in full on the Australian Prayer Network Page. PNG the newest CHRISTIAN NATION in the South Pacific. Tribal generational conflicts, ethnic cleansing, pagan titualistic killings and massed bloodshed and now 2020. and yes they are aligned fully with Israel. My heart and prayers for all of you there.
It has appeared very hopeful that P. Trump has been able to appoint so many judges who believe in interpreting the Constitution as written not as a living document. Now that he has number three going on the Court, evil is even more enraged. The abortion issue is the great divide. And without a doubt it is a national sin. One Governor has even said the baby can be wrapped and placed comfortable on the table while the mother decides whether she wants to keep it. What an abomination! But we still have some praying people claiming the promise of II Chronicles 7:13. He is faithful to do right.
Beautiful, couldn’t agree with you more.
Thank you for reading and for leaving the comment. Blessings to you.
You welcome Mummy and Amen to that
Good night, Bro. George.

Amen! I prefer to think of it that we need God, not a different president. It is despicable that the news never talks about Trump’s accomplishments, especially regarding the Middle East peace negotiations. And we may still exist with a different president, but how many times of going away from God will it take until America no longer exists? Will this be it? But we can vote and we can pray.
Thanks for the comment. Wisdom seems to have flown from so many places. I’m days behind in reading because we are in the ice storm. No electricity but my granddaughter got me temporarily rigged for some catch up time tonight while all the other emergency needs are basically on hold. 😀 I believe God still has a use of America. Praises to Him either way.
