MENTIONING JESUS

Three things occurred yesterday which give me an urgency about this post today.

An earworm of a song “You Never Mentioned Him to Me”

A conversation with a friend whose grandson was killed in a car race

An article from a lady facing death

Lyrics to the chorus of “You Never Mentioned Him to Me.”

CHORUS: You never mentioned Him to me,
You helped me not the way to see;
You met me day by day and knew I was astray,
Yet never mentioned Him to me.

I am mentioning Him. He is the Answer to eternal life. He will remove the fear of death. He will welcome you into Heaven with open arms.

John 3 16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (KJV)

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

Beautiful words of comfort and joy. Your thoughtfulness for those you care about is so apparent. God’s love abounds.

“He is the Answer to eternal life. He will remove the fear of death.” – Now I know why. I don’t want eternal life and I don’t fear death. One life is good enough.😀

  3. Amen! Jesus is the truth! Blessings this Sunday morning. God is with you.

  4. an urgency seems to be here and everywhere really—yes, let us proclaim Him from the rooftops

Jesus speaks of fields being ripe unto harvest. I sure would like to harvest some souls.

      • There’s a certain atheist who goes by the moniker Ark who hails from South Africa— he has been a thorn and I had to ban him from my site— I read a blog by an ardent defender of the faith, colorstorm—
You may have seen his comments over in IB’s place as they compliment one another’s blogging.
CS, as he is often known, and Ark go at it— ALL the time!!!
Nice me once jumped in on one of their frays and it was ‘hell’ to pay ever since— hence his banning.
I do not go looking for trouble so I’ve never been to his site— but CS and IB are brave or foolish 🥰 depending!
I was actually reading this morning some tit for tat he was having with a Christian gentleman named Rudy who told CS he prays for Ark— well, that set Ark on fire.
He is most caustic to those who genuinely offer him Christian goodwill and ‘charity’
So if you are really looking for a list, angry contemptuous soul— I know where you can find one— and if anyone can hold their own with this Christian hating entity— it would be you—- but Ark is not a challenge for the faint of heart!

Really good post, Sister. I don’t think I’m alone in being overly cautious with unbelievers…we don’t want to offend, be “pushy”. It frustrates me because I desire to share my faith, but it doesn’t come easily. On the blog it’s simpler–if people are turned off, it’s not my responsibility; I’m not blogging for Likes and Follows–so I’m free to be as Jesus-y as I want to! 🙂 ❤

I understand. The reader has the freedom to not read and will not offense. I do not do personal evangelism very confidently. That is a lack of trust in the Lord. It is not our place to grow the seed, but only to plant it.

      • Jael Stevens says:

You’re so right, I know. Pastor Robert Morris (Gateway Church, Southlake, TX) has often said “just tell your story”, your testimony–but maybe I need to pray the Holy Spirit “gifts” me with ability, because I realize how important it is…so many unsaved, bound for destruction and eternal separation from God. This year as I read through the One Year Bible, which works so well for me–God highlighted the Old Test passages where He reveals not just His anger about all the sin and idolatry, and blatant disregard for Him and all He’s done for the people–but how it breaks His heart. He loves and loves, gives and gives, rescues over and over…and people just don’t get it. And believe me, I was just as bad for decades–blindly going my own way before I caught the revelation of ALL that GOD, the LORD is/are. I’ve been really moved this year by the prophets as they tell the stories–boy, I didn’t realize what a hard life they each had, being God’s messengers of warning. Isn’t that the cool part of reading the Bible–it’s always fresh and new, and rich–the Living Word! Oh my, I wish you were next door–we could just talk the day away! ❤ Merry Christmas to you!

        • oneta hayes says:

I love your excitement with all the new discoveries you are finding in Him and in His word. The Lord does love us and wants a relationship with us in the here and now. I know it grieves Him to see the lost blindly stumbling there own willful paths. I have a post called “Love’s Plan” which I will post tomorrow – or maybe hold for Christmas Day. I think you will enjoy it. Best to you.

          • Jael Stevens says:

Oh good, I’ll be looking for your post! There’s something about this Christmas, despite the year so topsy-turvy, that just excites me…perhaps because I’m finally old enough in my faith that I knew from the beginning of Covid, our only way of getting through the great “unknown” was Jesus, God’s grace, strength, love, provision. Very best to you also, Sister ❤

  6. Faye says:

How we live and how we reflect the Christ within us is the Way God will lead and guide us in these days of unrest and societal change.
Do not hide your LIGHT under a bushel let it blaze FORTH.
All the discussions and reasonings are useless unless GOD the HOLY spirit is free in surrendered lives to clearly point the way. The Victory was won at Calvary ……..All can enter but they have still the choice to FOLLOW HIM.. We must Live it and tell it. HE IS LORD! His KINGDOM will come!
Blessings to ALL walking in the WAY and to all who need to be shown.
