PETE’S G WAGON

The Birthing of a New Car

  1. Family waits anxiously in awaiting drive. The nursery arrives.
  2. First glimpse of the new arrival.
  3. Pete and Cali (corgi) claim ownership.
  4. Proud Grandma ready for the maiden journey.
  5. Observing Pete look over the controls.

Then I was off for a brand new experience. Touring the town. Getting attention from roadside workers. There really were some who even waved as though they were aware that we were having a joyride.

Now what Grandma Neta (me) was really proud of. Pete, that’s who. I’ve written about Pete before. How he astounded me with his counting twenty dollar bills I had received from the bank. He asked me if he could count my money. I said yes and passed him the 10 twenties. I expected him to count one, two, three…to ten. Instead he counted 20, 40, 60, to 200. https://onetahayes.com/2016/06/16/saying-good-bye-to-my-pete-the-younger-version/

I am delighted to tell you his “math” sense has paid off very well as he has made quite a bit of money in investments. At least enough to purchase this vehicle, a Mercedes G Class, and paid cash all by himself at 24 years old. He has done it diligently staying at his laptop for hours in order to get the big payoffs.

CONGRATULATIONS, PETE. I’M PROUD OF YOU.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
