ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
Thank you Oneta— you are indeed a polestar who points the way to our One True Hope!!!!
I have been down for the week, unable to spend much time sitting at the computer, so I am reading a book “Isle of Shadows” by Tracy Tigley. Setting is third century before Christ. Main character is a beautiful slave/lover to a rich man. In it she has no heart/no emotions as a shield for her protection. She meets a Jewish family through whom she finds hope/God. Life would be so sad without our Hope. I was meditating on how easy it is depicted in the book for one to accept the Lord. It was as easy as a little child who hears the Jesus story. We make it so hard. And thank you for your kindness.
I’m sorry you’ve been sidelined so to speak but boy, your post today packed a wallop!!!
🙏🙏Thank you Oneta. Yes, we need hope, lots of hope. And faith. Faith on our fellow human beings, faith on ourselves, and yes faith on the almighty if one is so inclined to though at this moment it feels like the almighty is in a deep slumber.
“…..About making another’s load lighter, putting a smile on a stranger’s face, or just taking time to listen…..” – no mention about blogs that makes you sharpen your knives and bare your claws😀
Exceptional words today. God is our only hope for now and the future❤️
THE only HOPE for the world.
amen! Thanks for the dose of hope, Oneta!
(I’d rather tick off twenty reasons to be happy and hopeful – twenty of God’s promises, because He always keeps them. 😉 ❤ )
It’s reads like you are not wasting the time when you are laid up. Sounds like a good book you are reading. I just finished a novel, Cavedweller, that made me think through some issue that bother me. It’s not a Christian book, I picked it up at a thrift store, never read this author before but it was a good read. Seems I spend a lot of time reading these days. But summer is almost fully here in our neck of the woods and the sunshine draws me, guess I will have to move my chair outside and read there. Blessing.
