David is my late-thirties grandson who has made life an adventure. In the mix he has met some very nice girls but no one really KO’d him until Oriana. She won my heart quickly also. The marriage took place in David’s house where they will be living. The minister is my son, Carl, David’s father.
This was my message to them:
Oriana, I’m David’s grandmother. You see, I am the old lady in the family into which you are marrying. I am the one you can tattle to. I hope you will grow to love me. I am sure I will love you. I love most near everybody, even if they are not loveable. I hear that you are easy to love. If you ever have a problem, message me with a “Grandma, I need prayer.” I promise to tell the Lord I’m needing him to help Oriana with what ever she is needing.
David, a short word to you. If you ever treat Oriana with any disrespect, I’ll tell the Lord on you! Always remember she is the daughter of the King who has trusted her into your kind hands.
Welcome to marriage. The making of the “two in one.” With this commitment you become two in one in the same sense that the Creator God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are three in one. Each of you fulfills a function you can never do my yourself, yet each of you has a responsibility to fully function on your own. Isn’t that amazing! Neither of you cease to be you. You are two ones who can only be complete when you are each one, one.
Let the Lord God be your third, then you can be three in one as your marriage is blessed with joy and happiness, and patience and forgiveness, ability to jump the hurdles, and strength to soar the skies.
