Definition of pregnant. 1 : containing a developing embryo, fetus, or unborn offspring within the body : gravid. 2 : full, teeming. 3 : rich in significance or implication  here

Dear Christian,

The chances are that you have never been visited by an angel.  For sure you have not been told you would become pregnant and give birth to the Son of God.  However, I want to point out a way in which you have been given a mission similar to the assignment to Mary—albeit very minor compared to her mission.  But your mission is important.  Her mission was to give birth to the Savior; your mission is to announce the story.

His Spirit is birthed within you.  Does his indwelling show forth in you?  Mary began to show signs of her pregnancy; you should be showing signs of the Living God dwelling in you.  As Mary faced hard persecution for becoming pregnant while unmarried, you may face persecution for showing signs of the Lord living within.   Most of us in the USA do not suffer that kind of persecution but there have been many who have suffered, been beaten, tortured and killed for their willingness to carry the Spirit of the Son of God.  Does your family disown you?  Mary’s family probably wanted to hide her away.  At least we know it was a complex issue with her betrothed and beloved Joseph.

God cares.  He gives at least two answers to help you on your journey.  First , He promised to be “with you.”  Even if it takes an angel.  Second, He will give you direction to find help.  He sent Mary to Elizabeth who was living a miracle herself.  She understood.  She mentored.  She encouraged.  She kept Mary until Mary was able to go home “with God.”

Go back to the definition and ponder definitions 2 and 3, then draw some conclusions about how you can “radiate” the Christmas Story.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
