THE NEWNESS OF YOU – 2022

The newness of you –2022

We have watched you coming near

Seems you crept in bringing fear.

But I have a message you should hear.

.

I’m not afraid of you

I’ve done what I needed to

So scurry off, take your boo-hoo

I’ll whack back with my steel-tipped shoe!

.

Okay, so I’m bluffing a bit.  I do not see or hear any really good news on the horizon.  International situation is bad!  National horizon is dark!  Covid devastating.  Wildfires are raging.  We have no earthly answer.  No competent leader who cannot be bought.  Rich men aplenty who will buy them.

DOJ is corrupt.  Military is swapping strong men and women for persons who are not comfortable in their own skin.  Voters who vote for the good of the country are overwhelmed by those who vote for good for themselves.

OKAY, SAY WHAT, ONETA?  WHAT SHOULD WE DO IN 2022?

He puts the answer squarely on his church.  Second Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The world needs healing.  God is not depending on Dept. of Justice, World Leaders, or the Military—nor any earthly weapon.  He is depending on his church.

I expect to continue blogging a variety of posts, prompts, and challenges.  I think I will even delve into Bloganuary.  But my serious issues  will largely be directed to the local church who make up people “called by his name.”

Need a pick-me-up: Sign in a farm-equipment dealer’s repair shop: “We do three types of jobs-Cheap, Quick, and Good. You can have any two. A good quick job won’t be cheap; a good job cheap won’t be quick; a chap job quick won’t be good.” (From a Farmer’s Digest many years ago.)

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

Love that sign. It reminded me of another one that pops up now and then. “Labor Charges: $35/hr. If you watch, $45/hr. If you insist on helping, $75/hr.” That one always makes me giggle.
I really like your new photo. Despite your gloomy words at the beginning of your post, you look happy, and you looking happy makes me smile.

Some folks are so witty. I do love your sign also. Yes, despite the gloom, I am happy. Maybe because I am not long to remain in the gloom. I’m in jest! I’m happy; keep smiling.

When I think about being courageous, I’m reminded of the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz. When push came to shove, he proved himself to be a hero. We all have that power within us. God gave it to us before we were born. Standing on God’s Word and promise, we have the best weapons against tyrrany and oppression. Your words are always an inspiration!

I like your cowardly lion analogy. There are a lot of folks who have power within; sometimes that power is ignited when tragedy occurs. Witness the courage of a town wiped out by a tornado! I guess that is often why suffering must occur. Thanks, Kathy.
