Wish I had a picture of Tiffany. No picture, but I’ve a story to tell.
A couple weeks ago, I took my maiden journey out of the house – when I finally broke free of Covid’s embrace. Being a bit on the excited side, I went to the Dollar Tree!
Hold up. I have to tell you why I’m writing this. Linda G. Hill’s word prompt for SOCS is “fortune.” https://lindaghill.com/2022/02/11/the-friday-reminder-and-prompt-for-socs-feb-12-2022/
Seems like most folks think of “fortune” as a fall into wealth, like winning a lottery. Do any of you remember that I have written about having some mineral rights and how painful it would be for some oil company to strike it rich on my land – after I turned ninety? At this point I don’t believe being rich with money would change my lifestyle much!
But my life is rife with “good fortune.” Such as happened when Tiffany waited on me at the Dollar Tree. As I was gathering my stuff I remarked to her about how her loveliness showed up – above her mask. She did have a smile that lighted up all over her face!
We are not fortunate at all to be living in a time that “mask mandates” are considered normal. So saying, I leave this subject with a big thanks to Canadian truckers who are paying a huge price for our freedom.

Thank you, Linda G. Hill, for our word – “fortunate.” I have read some already. Good input.
A big ‘thumbs up’ in agreement, Oneta!
Nice to meet you, Neta. Yes a fortune does not always mean money.
Thank you for taking the time to show me “you’re here.” And the “Neta” is nice also. Must have read my “about.” I will come to check on you.
Oneta, I’m so glad to hear you are out of captivity and meeting nice people like Tiffany. In most places here masks are optional, and I always leave mine off whenever possible, so I can smile at people. I was passing an elderly couple in the grocery store who were all masked up, and I smiled and greeted them. One of them said in a muffled voice, “Oh, you have such a beautiful smile!” and without thinking I blurted, “I’m sure you do, too.” 🙄
I agree. Let us give ” a big thanks to Canadian truckers who are paying a huge price for our freedom”.
