I am trying to catch up. Oh, so far behind for my SoCS offered by Linda G. Hill. She challenges us with using the word “rest” for a bit of unplanned thoughts. I would like to say I got some rest today; you know the kind where you go lie down for a while.
I didn’t get that, but I did get to do a lot of things that I like to do. That is what I enjoy more than the lie down kind. I much prefer the active kind of rest. Making a difference in my world for the remaining time I am in it? That’s satisfying.
I don’t think anyone can rest who does not have a satisfied mind. I have not spend much time with a worried mind. Sometimes? Yes. That’s no fun.
I’m playing around with a thought. I wonder how many times I can use rest in one sentence, still making the thought concise and interesting. I’ll try.
I will rest a bit with my arm resting on the armrest while I eat the rest of my apple.
That’s it, Friends, four times with different meanings in a concise sentence. Interesting? I don’t know.

Thanks, Linda, for the mind relaxer. https://lindaghill.com/2022/02/25/the-friday-reminder-and-prompt-for-socs-feb-26-2022/
A rest of any sort is better than arrest for any reason!
Ha! I like that wordplay. I missed you this week. Did you write? I’ll check and see.
Yes, that variety of “rests” is interesting. The thought of active rest intrigues me. I wonder how the Commandment to rest on the Sabbath could be approached in a spirit of active rest. J.
A spirit of active rest? It’s a thought worth thinking. I think that is what I have referred to previously as focused worship. All thoughts on Jesus, not on how I am “doing” it.
