THAT LUCKY OLD SUN

Up in the mornin’
Out on the job
Work like the devil for my pay
But that lucky old sun got nothin’ to do
But roll around heaven all day

What would the sun see when Louis Armstrong sang about him.  Life seemed normal; people behaving while sun was watching.  Old sun is glad to be a day time observer.  Bad stuff happened in the dark. Bad stuff happened in the closet.

Sort of like “what’s in Vegas stays in Vegas.”  “What’s in the dark stays in the dark.  Unseen guilt, nudity, crime, abuse, addictions, greed, vulgarity, rape.

———

Time has passed there are no night-time/day-time behaviors now.  Nope, we are Woke!  Sun sees.

Parades, protests, entertainment have no moral limits. Sun sees.

If a girl wants to take a dump on top of a car. she does.  Sun sees.

If a guy wants to put a chair through a store window.  He does.  Sun sees.

If women show their privates at half time games, they do.  Sun sees.

If hip hop violently and racially degrade women, they do.  Sun sees.

Weird behavior and thoughts are now “out of the closet.”  Sun sees.

If powerful elite traffic children. They do. Sun sees.

Sun can recall a time when he had to close his eyes in shame.

How long?

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

You nailed it with this one.

Hard to hit the “Like” button on this one, but we are, as my Mother used to say, “going to hell in a handbasket.”

There will be a limit to how long our merciful God will be mocked. We could look t the history of other major powers of the past.

The closest parallel is likely Israel before Babylon attacked Jerusalem. The sacrifice of infants (think of all America’s abortions) for the convenience and worship of false gods! How long, oh LORD, how long?
