Dear Bloggers, let’s take a recess a bit. We still have John to go on our Five Men Who Knew God; but I am tired and ready to relax a bit.
Want to share a glorious thought to relax on. I have been wading through the Books of the Law, namely Exodus, Numbers, and Leviticus. As I so often complain and ask Jesus how it is that I’m in these books again. My answers are generally that they show me how much “order” means to God. He is not haphazard and he takes no haphazard gifts or sacrifices.
But this time around I have grown so thankful for Jesus’s having “finished” all that blood sacrifice with its laws and traditions! When he hung on that cross and said “it is finished” and the veil was rent top to bottom … hallelujah! My pastor is preaching from Hebrews now also. Keeps driving home how much better our Great High Priest is.
Another meditation I have had recently is regarding how long Jesus hung on the cross before he said, “It is finished.” As he hung there, did the sins of all man roll like a movie as he willingly let each of our sins hang on him? Did my sins make him hang there? Yes. Mine and yours. Maybe even the sins being committed by those who don’t accept his forgiveness.
Have a blessed day, I expect to be back with John tomorrow. The next day I will be showing commonalities in their lives that made them special people who knew God. By the way, we have the same thing in common.
Take your time, Oneta. “He’s got all the time in the world.”
I had never heard that. Thank you. Good night.
