THAT’S MY ANSWER, I’M STICKING TO IT

I’ve never written a Share Your world before. It looks like fun, so I’m hopping in. Thanks to the hostess for the opportunity. I feel acquainted with you because of teleportingweena and Yinglan. So here goes…

What very common thing have you never done?  (this one probably is a recycle, but I don’t think it’s terribly recent?)

Some things I have tried but not successfully like crochet and croquet for starters. But for what I have never done. Hiking, swimming, knitting. I have never drank wine, smoked a cigarette, or any other weed, however, I did stick a cigarette butt in my lips one time! I blogged that story one time, but here is the short version. I went to country school maybe about twenty kids. I think I was in second grade, the ringleader, a sixth-grade boy named Jesse James (for real, but not the Jesse James you have heard of) lead the whole bunch of us to an abandoned house where we found lots of butts on the floor. I don’t know what the teacher was doing that we got by with that. But Jesse didn’t. His mom came with him and a belt the next morning. He caught it big time.

Are we morally obligated to be charitable, if we have the means to?

Yes, I believe so if we have the means to. I don’t know how we can follow the golden rule without doing so. We were taught the golden rule when I was in grade school. Probably about the same time I knew Jesse James. 😀

What is the most amazing fact you know?

That the Creator made things so small and so large that I can’t conceive of either.

What’s your favorite sandwich and why?

I haven’t had one in a long time, but I guess it would be fried baloney and egg. Like most other people, I order hamburgers! On second thought, I guess if I had to have the same thing every day of the week, I would have the hamburger rather than the fried baloney.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

I like that memory of Jesse James, his mother and the belt.

I’m glad you participated. This is fun and it lightens the day. 😀

Put the fried baloney on a cheeseburger. At US Army PXs in my day, they called it a Davy Crockett.

I bought baloney that day, fried it….wasn’t at all what I remembered. Still have some. I could see how a Davey Crockett tastes, if I would buy a cheeseburger to put it on. 😀
