I’ve written a lot about my now-12-year-old Great GD, Ashlyn. Some of you might even remember how much I have learned from her tender heart. So you will understand how excited I was to be going to her water baptism. I headed out. Wandered all over the area where I thought the church was. Found wrong places galore. Parked and walked about three blocks, believing that some family member would go get my car for my return. No. The place I went to was locked up. No choice but to head back down the street again. Time was whizzing. I knew I was going to be late. Tears began. Oxygen tank was getting heavier and heavier; cane was wobbling; knees were weaking.
Two young people came out of a deli, toothpicks in use. One smelled like onions and garlic, very much like a human being. They noticed my despair and asked if I needed help. One carried my load; they got me to my car. I found a new use for a covid mask. Yes, I needed a tissue so I used a cast aside mask to wipe my nose. 😀 Maybe God will decide to equip angels with tissues.
I think of my father-in-law who always said he had two angels watch out for him. They were named Goodness and Mercy. Do you know the song “Surely Goodness and Mercy Shall Follow Me?” I never did find the church. She was baptized. I missed it.

I love what your grandfather said! Wow, never thought of that. I need to share that if I may.
Sorry. Father in law.
Of course. It is an image that sticks in the mind. Might not have been original with him, anyway. Spread the word!
I dislike when that happens. It can be frustrtating to miss such a wonderful event.
Blessings to your GD 🙏🏻
Glad you understand. Thanks.
Maybe Jesus will give her a do-over in Heaven just for you. He’s like that; but if course, YOU know that. 😉
