Picture is a view of my table and window. Flower is day lily, not goldenrod. I have no goldenrod, but I plan to place that on my bucket list: “plant some goldenrod”
This assignment by Tourmaline piqued my curiosity regarding the Goldenrod plant. I find that it is beautiful and beneficial to body, butterflies, and bees.
I always have fun with Color Your World. Thanks, Tourmaline.
ABOUT ME
Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...
I have not heard of golden rod. I have a plant in my garden called golden chain. It’s just started to grow but no flowers yet. I wonder if it’s the same as golden rod. I’ll send you a photo when it blooms x
My online browsing yields the following info. Golden rod is a flower; golden chain is a tree. I would love to see a picture of the golden chain tree. I’m sure my son would love to have one – a tree not your picture. 😀 He is a tree lover.
I hope your friend is right because I plan to look for these plants to grow on my little acre. I especially like the bees and butterflies aspect. I read that chewing the plant is good for toothache.
I want to pay tribute to wonderful people I have known, the wonderful country in which I live, the communities in which I have lived, the churches who have claimed me as their own, the God who sends shivers down my back when I really give him a portion of my time—well, maybe not shivers but tears flow easily in some of those most priceless times.

Thanks Oneta. Mines definitely a plant not a tree. I suspect it’s golden rod then and I’ve been calling it by the wrong name all these years 🤣
Goldenrod is beautiful! I like seeing it grow along the country roads in the spring.
Thanks for the confirmation that I have stumbled on to a plant that I would like to nurture. I appreciate the comment, nickc324. 😀
“Beneficial to body, butterflies, and bees.” Not so much for the allergic! 🤧 (😉)
❤️&🙏, c.a.
Okay, an email friend was VERY clear in letting me know Goldenrod gets a bad undeserved rap for allergies!! See https://blog.nwf.org/2014/09/the-goldenrod-allergy-myth/ for what my correspondent informed me. Mea culpa! 😌

If I ever get my own teeth to grow again, I’ll let you know! 😂
Let me in on the action.
Beautiful goldenrod! 💐😊
Thanks for your response. I’m glad others appreciate the goldenrod. I still don’t have any but I’m hopeful.
