AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH

I OFTEN GOOF-OFF ON TUESDAY WITH MY TUESDAY TWO-BITS OR TUESDAY TWO-SOMES but today I have two serious bits relating to the coming of Jesus.  The first is Jesus speaking, the second are words in the book of Timothy.

1. “….as it was in the days of Noah…”  Matthew 24: 36-37  No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark.

This selection doesn’t give much detail about anything very significant.  I have always heard it taught in what we might call “just regular living.”  So how is that much of a sign?  That’s just normal day by day behavior.  But, look back and see what was normal in that day.

God said about their “normal” – And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.   And in verse 11 he adds the word “violence” to the charge.  Just before this selection, there is a passage relating to what I call “distortion and disturbance” in sexual and family matters.  And it certainly brings the subject of demons into the matter.  What and how?  I don’t know.

So how is the “normal” of pre-flood days any different than our day.  Do we have wickedness?  There can be no denying of that charge.

A bit more detail.  1.  Check “imagination of the thoughts of his heart.”  We see headlines daily that chill us and we say “how can a human do that?”  First we can be sure he thought it out in his mind, and he accepts it in his heart before he puts his evil into action.  2. Violence?  Daily.  Did you see the store clerk this week who followed every demand of a robber, still the robber hopped over the counter, put his gun to the clerk’s head, and shot him.  3. Upset in sexual and family matters?  With minimum research, I conclude about fifty to sixty percent of children live with two biological parents.  How many of those are happy, well adjusted families?  How many are ravaged by abuse?  What about the work of demons in breaking up homes?  I believe it is a lot.  The forces of evil are rampant in the “entertainment” industry, leaving their “watcher” feeling unfulfilled and floundering in sexual perversion trying to find the sexual “utopia.”  It is common to believe men are on the look for adultery or other forms of immoral sex.  It is even becoming commonplace for women to leave their homes because they “just don’t want to be married” any longer.  I want to be me!  I want to be free!

I have filled my page and mostly just left questions.  But, however we interpret all these things, when Jesus said “as in the days of Noah…eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage…included all the sinful ways in which the people were doing “normal” things.

I didn’t get to the Timothy scripture. But this is a large kernel to consider for one blog. Back with Timothy later.

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

I believe that the earth was destroyed for more reasons than sin and immorality between humans. Genesis 6:2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they took as wives whomever they chose. They weren’t wives in the conventional sense of the word and their offspring were purely evil because their fathers are fallen angels. I believe that all humans except Noah and his family had been genetically corrupted. I believe it was so with the animals as well. We know the devil wants to be like the Most High and I feel he was trying to make the earth and it’s inhabitants in his image. God knew the flood would not wipe out sin and it didn’t he was wiping abominations like the Nephilim.
An interesting fact is countries like China and Japan are working on genetically modifying both animals and humans trying to make chimera’s. I don’t remember the country, but one of them has spliced human DNA into a monkey embryo. I don’t know if it lived or not, but it foretells of things to come and I don’t want to be here when they succeed. I know the military has been interested for a long time in giving soldiers “enhancements” from the animal world such as better night vision, better vision overall, more strength, the ability to run faster, and more. The question is what else with be transferred in the human when they do this using big cats like lions, tigers, and cheetahs, and larger primates like gorillas. It will not end well that is for sure.
Just my thoughts on the matter.

thanks for adding interesting bits to my subject. Yes, I did mention the demonic influence in family and sexual matters during that period. I didn’t go into detail because it is not something I understand beyond the fact that it was abominable to the Lord. The Bible says the offspring were “giants” but I think it much have been something besides relating to the size. I have heard that that was where giants like Goliath and his brothers began, but I have my doubts about that being the case.

Thanks and I do believe that is where Goliath and his brothers origins Goliath would have been around 7′ 10″ and when you go up the width would be greater too. My grandpa was 6′ 10″ and he was enormous especially next to my grandma that was 4′ 11″. My grandpa height was caused by a genetic syndrome called Marfan Syndrome and there are other genetic causes for giants. It would be pretty odd though for one family to have that many giant children from one set of parents. I also believe it had to do with more than size because they were not redeemable and to me that means they were something other than human.
