INNOCENTS IN HELL? NEVER! – An Introduction

In 2016 I had been challenged with the question, “Why would a loving God send innocent people to hell?” My answer is, “He doesn’t.” Today I am beginning a copy/paste of that series.

I remind you that I am not a theologian and I am answering according to my personal knowledge of God and his Son, Jesus Christ.  I am a grandmother with a long relationship with Jesus.  I have read the Bible many times.  Jesus said we are to accept him as a little child.  I accept him and his word as a little child.  I find answers to my questions based on my faith in him as well as my interpretation of various scriptures.  Having said that, I also accept that I do not have the mind that could cope with the “vocabulary” of God if he chose to tell me all the answers for the questions I ask.  I am happy to accept that he is a great deal smarter than I.  I do not even ask the mechanic to answer all my questions about how my car runs.  Why in the world would I want to try to understand the mind of God!

I believe the soul of man lives eternally and that our walk on this earth is a preparatory time for that eternal existence.  I believe it is God’s ordained will that man live eternally in heaven with him.  He wanted that enough that he send his son, Jesus, to die a sacrificial death and  the blood of Jesus atoned for sins of all who believe in him.  The process is simple, simply believe and choose to walk in obedience to God as you have light and knowledge to do so.  At the same time the process is hard in that it requires a absolute surrender of one’s will and a giving up of the rebellious nature that makes us want to be our own master.

I also find that giving up our own determination to do our own thing, is the way to complete peace and freedom.  Therefore, in becoming his servant I am free.  Is anybody sitting in my ‘Amen’ corner?

About oneta hayes

ABOUT ME Hello. To various folks I am Neat’nee, Mom, Grandma Neta, Gramma, Aunt Neta, Aunt Noni, Aunt Neno, and Aunt Neto (lots of varieties from little nieces and nephews). To some I’m more like “Didn’t you used to be my teacher?” or “Don’t I know you from someplace?” To you, perhaps, I am a Fellow Blogger. Not “fellow” like a male or a guy, but “fellow” like a companion or an adventurer. I would choose to be Grandma Blogger, and have you pull up a chair, my website before you, while I tell you of some days of yore. I have experienced life much differently than most of you. It was and is a good life. I hope to share nuggets of appreciation for those who have gone before me and those who come after me. By necessity you are among those who come after me and I will tell you of those who came before. Once upon a time in a little house on a prairie - oops, change that lest I commit plagiarism - and change that “house on the prairie” to “dugout on the prairie.” So my story begins...

This has been a lifetime battle for me. I am so stubborn that I think I can help God somehow. With each new problem I try to let go and let God. Just how does one completely surrender?

Kathy, I might be that you are a creative person; therefore, your brain quickly goes to “how can I help.” Oh, the things we can design that might make nice plans for the Lord! 😀 You see, I understand. Admitting one’s failures and “oops” happenings can make us come to the time when we honestly pray “Not my plan, but yours, Lord.” How to do that? Good question. I do know the quicker it happens, the fewer “failures” we have to endure.

  2. I’m sitting in your amen corner. 🙂

Definitely in your “amen corner,” dear sister.
I recall a funny “translation” of Revelation 21:8, “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, … and all liars, Lawyers and Theologians, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
    Just a thought. 😁

I’ve heard it said before the way to hell is paved with those whistling the tune, “I did it my way!” (I sure do hope ole blue-eyes wasn’t held culpable for that strayed-away pied-piper tune….😊)
